Vampire's Kiss To-Go Coffees: Fang-tastic Sips for Trick-or-Treat Night

Trick-or-treat night just got a little more bloodthirsty. Our Vampire's Kiss To-Go Coffees come in two versions, a creamy berry steamer for the littles and a boozy espresso steamer for the grown-ups, both dressed up with marker fangs and a raspberry "blood drip" running down the cup. They take about 10 minutes, travel well in a lidded to-go cup, and make the neighborhood walk way more fun. Watch us make them, then tell us: which version are you sinking your teeth into?

Why We Love This Recipe

One base, two drinks, zero drive-through lines. Raspberry syrup and chocolate sauce give the kids a sweet, pink steamer they'll actually finish, while a double shot, coffee liqueur, and Irish cream turn the grown-up cup into a cozy little dessert in disguise. And the fang-and-drip trick? It costs you one marker and a drizzle of syrup, and it gets more compliments than half the costumes on the block.

What You'll Need

For the Kids' Vampire's Kiss Steamer:

  • 6 fluid ounces whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon raspberry or strawberry syrup, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate sauce

For the Adult Vampire's Kiss Boozy Steamer:

  • 6 fluid ounces whole milk
  • Double shot of espresso
  • 1 fluid ounce coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa or Mr. Black)
  • 1 fluid ounce Irish cream liqueur
  • 1.5 tablespoons raspberry or strawberry syrup, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate sauce, for drizzling
  • 1 pinch cocoa powder or dark chocolate shavings, for garnish

For the Spooky Setup:

  • 2 white to-go cups with lids
  • 1 food-safe or permanent marker

How to Make It

  1. Give your cups some bite. Draw a row of fangs along the outside rim of both cups, angled down like a bite mark. Keep the ink on the exterior, below the lip that touches your mouth.
  2. Pull the double shot. Brew a double shot of espresso for the adult cup and set it aside.
  3. Steam the milk. Steam 6 ounces of milk for each cup. For the kids' cup, keep it warm rather than piping hot so little hands and mouths can dig right in.
  4. Mix up the kids' cup. Stir the raspberry or strawberry syrup and chocolate sauce into the kids' steamed milk until it turns a pretty berry-mocha pink.
  5. Streak the adult cup. Drizzle chocolate sauce inside the adult cup so it streaks down the interior wall. Spooky from the inside out.
  6. Spike the grown-up version. Combine the espresso, coffee liqueur, Irish cream, and raspberry or strawberry syrup, then stir in the steamed milk.
  7. Pour it in. Pour each mixture into its cup.
  8. Let it bleed. Drizzle extra raspberry or strawberry syrup over the rim of each cup so it runs down the outside past the fangs. Finish the adult cup with a pinch of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings, then pop on the lids and head out.

Pro Tips

  • Draw first, pour second. Fangs go on easiest when the cup is dry and empty. Let the ink set for a minute before you start drizzling.
  • Go thick for the drip. A thicker strawberry or raspberry sauce clings to the cup and creates slow, dramatic drips, while a thin syrup runs straight to the bottom. If all you've got is syrup, a quick spin in the fridge thickens it up.
  • Steam it silky. A good frothing pitcher makes the steaming step a breeze for both cups. We recommend the Fellow Eddy Steaming Pitcher for this!
  • Tell your cups apart. Give the adult cup a different fang style (extra-long, or a single drip) so the grown-up version never ends up in a littles' hands. And check your local rules before carrying the boozy one around the neighborhood.
  • Keep the heat in. Lids are your best friend on a cold night. Sip through the opening and your drink stays warm the whole walk.

What Does It Taste Like?

The first sip is all ripe berry, sweet and a little tart like a raspberry truffle. Then the warm, velvety milk rolls in with chocolate, smoothing everything into something cozy and dessert-like. In the adult cup, the espresso and coffee liqueur add a roasty backbone while the Irish cream brings a soft, vanilla-tinged richness. It finishes with a whisper of cocoa and a lingering berry sweetness that makes you want just one more sip before the next doorbell.
