Better than their best

Replaced my Oracle Touch with this Breville Impress and will never look back. Ready to grind and to shot in seconds. The espresso and steam drink options are plentiful and able to actually steam almond and oat milk with creamy results.

The best flavor coffee ever made! Take my word for it, switching from a fully automatic Phillips. Never going back

Good machine, lacks steam power

I loved the features of this machine. Only problem with this style heating element is it auto shuts off at 90 seconds. This means you can not heat more than about 10 oz of milk to a temp near 160 degrees. 9 oz in the provided picture work great, over that it struggles.

Never looking back

The best coffee investment I've made since now I won't be wasting any coffee that I'm buying since this machine makes it so delicious. So perfect! With the crema it's got that caramel color. It is so easy to set up. So easy to do. It's a step-by-step instruction and you can adjust to your liking. It tells you if the grind setting will make the coffee too bitter or just right. You have several different options to choose from of coffees to make. I love this machine, it is amazing!!!

Broke in the first two weeks

I should have done more research before making the purchase. Lots of reported issues with this machine and mine was no exception. The dosing sensor failed in the first two weeks and because it is supposed to be "smart dosing" it can no longer adjust to the bean and grind. Back it goes.

I'm thrilled to finally experience how espresso and specialty drinks are truly meant to taste which they do with this machine! The milk froth produced by this machine is truly barista-quality, which means it will create that rich, velvety texture I’ve always loved. What’s even more impressive is how the machine guides you through each step of the process, making it incredibly user-friendly for anyone, regardless of their coffee-making skills.

I can now make it a reality of myself mastering the art of crafting the perfect cappuccino or latte, complete with beautifully layered foam. This will not only help me rediscover my deep love for coffee but will also elevate my morning routine. Plus, the machine does extract espresso to perfection, ensuring I finally enjoy that invigorating espresso energy that fuels my day. I can't wait to keep diving into this new journey of coffee exploration from my own home! NEVER going to another coffee house again thanks to my Breville Touch Impress!!!

Good but still room to improve machine.

Strengths: 1. Looks and fees sturdy. 2. Water reservoir is made with clearer material. 3. More features of hot water and steam. 4. Is able to add customized coffee options. Weaknesses : Programs / software needs to be re-written to learn faster and more accurate. Overall it is a good machine. Thank you.

Worth every penny? Almost! Here's why.

Initially, I purchased the Barista Touch, just before Christmas because they were on sale. It took some practice dialing in to the best grind setting, and then it made wonderful espresso shots. However, it did NOT do a great job frothing milk. For example, there was really no discernable difference between froth setting of 5 vs 8. I did a video call with Breville, and frothed milk and they agreed. They offered to email me a shipping label to return it to them so that they could have a technician look at it. That's ridiculous for a machine that was less than 2 weeks old. That's a 'customer service' red flag.I returned the machine to the store, and got a replacement. However, I noticed the exact same thing, yet again. I returned the second Barista Touch, and replaced it with the Barista Touch IMPRESS, and wow, I'm so glad I did, for a few reasons. The Touch Impress has a better grinder, and I actually love the intelligent dosing, assisted tamping, and auto correction of the next dose. Frankly, for this money, I also prefer the stainless-steel wand handle (the 'loop' for lifting the wand) rather than the rubber loop on the Touch. The Touch Impress also has alternative milk settings, which is certainly not a must have feature, but will be interesting to experiment with. I actually think the coffee tastes better from this machine. However, I do have a very big concern about the Barista Touch Impress, and so should you. I had read several complaints online about the Touch Impress shutting off in the middle of the milk frothing process before the frothing is complete, with the screen displaying an error code. I've had the Touch Impress for less than one week, and this morning it shut off during the milk frothing! There was no error message, but it shut off. Sadly, I'll be returning it, and will not purchase another Breville. Trying 3 Breville espresso machines is enough. I cannot keep a machine this expensive, that randomly shuts off. I've also read reviews that the machine completely stopped working after 3 months. I could purchase the store's extended warranty IF it covers on-the-spot replacement. However, no one should have to pay extra money to be covered if an expensive appliance stops working 3 months after purchasing!Of note, I also have the Breville Nespresso Creatista Plus. I've had it for about 5 years, and it froths milk much better than the Barista Touch, as does my $149 Aeroccino milk frother. For the cost and purpose of the Barista Touch, that's not okay. The Barista Touch Impress is definitely a worthwhile step up from the Barista Touch. I would never have believed that until I had tried both machines. However, if you purchase the Impress, or any of the Breville espresso machines, make very good use of the machine within the 30-day return window. I highly recommend purchasing your machine from somewhere you can return in person, just in case, as that's so much easier than packing it and shipping it back somewhere! For this price, do NOT tolerate or accept anything less than perfection for a function as basic and fundamental as frothing a small jug of milk! Froth lots of milk, several times a day, regardless of whether you pull a shot of espresso! Go through lots of beans and milk while you are practicing, finding the best grind setting, and testing to make sure everything functions normally. The cost of that is nothing compared to the cost of the machine, and discovering issues when it's too late to return it. This machine is far too expensive to discover some nightmare after the first 30 days have passed. Don't assume that Breville will replace your machine if anything goes wrong because that's highly unlikely! That's just a false comfort we naively tell ourselves. There are lots of loops in their terms and limitations of warranty coverage. Actually read that warranty! Don't be surprised to discover you won't get much help from Breville's minimum wage customer service associates, who have likely been told that replacing machines is the last resort. Most likely, all you will ever be offered is to ship your machine to Breville so they can have a technician "look at it", maybe repair something, or say they did. Who knows.A wonderful machine? incredibly simple, no muss, no fuss, however, there is a significant, major, electrical flaw with this machine. In theory, the Touch Impress is a 5-star machine, but in reality, with this short circuit shut off issue, it's flawed and grossly overpriced. It might be best to wait until next year to purchase this machine, when perhaps they will have corrected this issue, if they even care to address and correct this issue. Use your first 30 days wisely, and froth lots of milk!Do I recommend the machine? Yes and No. Purchase with awareness of this electrical flaw because chances are it will happen with your machine too. Oh well. Back to using my Nespresso and my Moka Pot.

I like it, but,

I like it. Slight leaning curve, for example, single walled portafilter, puck falls right out. Sometimes even sticking to shower head. Double wall has to be beaten out. In neither case is Puck "Dry".You never really know what the grinder will do, one time I get the slow warning, next time its okay.

Major mechanical issue

This machine makes excellent espresso drinks, however, there are hundreds of unhappy customers trying to work with Breville directly on a malfunction with this machine. Some customers have even gone through 3-4 replacements and all machines have the same issue. While auto steaming the milk there's an electrical arc/spark emitting from next to the temp sensor. This shuts the machine entirely off. Breville just tells people to send a video of it happening, or they just tell people to clean the machine. None of this helps or fixes the issue. There needs to be a total recall or a complete overhaul of the senor area because the shutting down during operation will fry the motherboard. We have decided to rather than deal with Brevilles unhelpful service, to try a piece of electrical tape in the area where the arc/spark is happening in hopes it buffers the current. This machine has a significant problem and needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. If you want to read more do a google search on "breville impress shutting down while frothing milk" and take notice of the reditt coversations. It's overwhelming.
