This blow-up very excellent and useful
Please,Use it in the Special 75 for coffee & espresso, Use the cryogenically treated burrs for best results. you wont believe the uniformity & nuances of flavor that you receive in return. Chk it out to see for yourself.Who would ever have kept coffee in a hopper??? unless your about to use .Pump billows it aggressively & it will work wonders, fits well unless you have the rubber piece on upside down the set screw will hold in place, never had hopper move at all Can be pumped during and after machine is off. Pump a few of short shots, until you see a larger volume fill your filter. Pump a few time more to clear the last minute amount. Will not break.A little messy because of the volume of air & grounds coming out, but who cares.Play with it yourself and you be the judge and jury.Stephen
The rubber part does not look smooth
Don not waste your money
Mixed feelings about it. The final result is close to zero retention (about 17.5 gm out on an 18 gm dose), and it does help keep the burrs and exit chute clean, but the hopper itself doesn’t fit securely on the machine and moves quite a bit during operation of the bellows, and tends to blow the coffee out of the portafilter. Useful, but need design modification
Eureka advertises the Blow Up system for single dosing with zero retention but in practice this does not work and the amount of beans out does not equal the amount of beans in. There is about 2g of retention even after 10-20 push (normal retention of the atom 65/75 is around 2g).The type of beans (roast, ...) seems to have an impact though. One blend seems to have a retention of 0-0.2g most of the time while the retention was always 2g with the other three blends.Also the quality of the ground beans that come out when the push works seems quite suspicious.

If you are needing a short hopper for the Atom, just get the short hopper and save a boatload of money! In my opinion, this is an excellent idea but the design needs big improvements to make it actually work! The problems with it - when the top is pressed to blow out the chute, the air simply exits out of the slot for the "stop" lever to keep the beans from getting everywhere if you are changing to a different bean. I removed the lever from the hopper and put tape on the outside. After about 5 to15 presses of the top I can clear the chute of any residual grinds IF I AM LUCKY! Seriously! I tried this with just 25 grams of beans in the hopper and 200 grams. It made no difference. I then realized that the air was escaping around the bottom of the rubber part where it sits on the hopper. I could probably silicon seal the rubber top onto the plastic hopper and MAYBE it would work! However, I do not feel that one should have to do 2 or 3 modifications to make a $109 hopper do what it is described to do! If you want fresh grind, you just need to grind @ 2 grams of beans and discard them. THEN grind for your espresso shot. This item DOES NOT remove residual coffee in the chute as described! Eureka, you totally failed with this item!If I find a fix I will follow up with another post.
It’s working better than the original Atom hopper with the 45 degree angle all around.The blowout feature would work better if the gate would have a seal. It takes about 10 pumps to get about 90% of the residual coffee out of the grinder.
