Aluminum Burr Coffee Grinders

FAQs
Not necessarily. Aluminum may describe the grinder’s housing or burr carrier rather than its cutting burrs. Coffee grinder burrs are commonly made from steel or ceramic, so check the specifications for the body and burr materials separately.
You’ll find both styles. Manual grinders use a hand crank to turn the burrs, while electric grinders use a motor. An aluminum body describes the grinder’s construction, not how it operates.
Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and use a grinder brush to remove loose grounds from accessible burrs, the grounds chute, and the collection area. Wipe the aluminum exterior with a soft cloth, following any care guidance for its finish. Only remove components designated for routine cleaning.
Single dosing means measuring beans for one brewing session and adding that portion to the grinder, rather than keeping the hopper filled. Check the manufacturer’s guidance before adopting this workflow, since some grinders are designed to operate with beans remaining in the hopper.
Use the hopper for beans you plan to grind soon, and keep your remaining beans in an airtight container away from heat, light, and moisture. An aluminum grinder body does not indicate whether the hopper has an airtight seal; check the hopper’s specifications separately.
