Great scale. Very precise. Love the flow measurement too. I bought this scale after seeing numerous fantastic reviews and being an avid coffee drinker myself - that said I primarily use it to when cooking and baking. I like that it goes up to 3000g and has 0.1g precision at lower mass scales. It was well packaged upon arrival (very Apple-esque). Its design minimizes the chance for water damage, which is fantastic!Cons: Too many apps. There is indeed a large learning curve to use the advanced coffee settings (though half the time it’s spent picking the right app lol). Wish the silicone pad were larger or similar in shape the one provide with the Pearl. I do wish it weren’t made of plastic. That said if you buy the covers and use the silicone pad you won’t see scratches!

You need learn all modes or at least understand what it does. You don’t have to use them all but is very useful, seems pretty accurate.

This scale is the MASTER for pour-over coffee. The size is perfect, it?s precise, and gives you all the information you need easily to make fantastic coffee!!!!!

Weighs great. Sometimes it shifts into some other mode or set up which is difficult to get out of.

I like it. It is my first coffee scale. I wanted to really make consistent coffee with my Moccamaster kbgv for various beans and ground coffee. After much trial & error I have succeeded thanks to a great scale & coffee maker. I also use a Fellow Grinder and really use & like the scale. My next move is to get an espresso grinder & machine.

The Acaia Pearl S was a great investment for my pour-over routine. The precision is quick, the display is easy to read, and the various modes are useful to improve the rate at which I'm pouring the water. Bluetooth connection was a bit hard to setup on my first use, but has been consistent since.

The question with Acaia scales is always, is it worth the price? And I can’t answer that for everyone, but I will say that I’ve had it about a month and I love it so far. I use it several times per day and am only charging it today for the first time. Do I like the apps? Yes, but I don’t really use them. You pay for a great looking, very accurate and overall extremely refined product. So if you have room in your budget and you already have a great grinder, why not?

This coffee scale does everything I could ask for and a bit more. I was really pleased that I’m able to fit it on my Oracle Touch for measuring the weight of espresso shots yet it is big enough to hold the complete portafilter without any additional plate under the portafilter. It is very accurate and repeatable. I haven’t used the Brewguide feature yet since I do primarily espresso and Americano/Lungo. Improvements? Yeh, maybe a little thinner like the Acaia Lunar and a bit more affordable never hurts!

Both the Lunar, which I use for espresso pulls, and the Pearl S are well-built, extremely responsive scales. While the Pearl S is most useful for pour overs, my main reasons for using it are 1) the Portafilter mode (to be exact with dry weights inputs) and 2) the Practice Flow-Rate mode, which I use to practice my Latte Art milk pouring techniques - 10ml initial fills and cut-throughs; 20ml-30ml art patterns, depending on design. (BTW, I requested Acaia add multiple time options for Portafilter Mode reset. Within a day they had added them. Talk about service!)

Shipping was enormously fast, 2 days from WA to CA. Product is as robust as advertised — the 0.1g precision is a great tool and the numbers update enormously quickly. There's a tiny learning curve since there's a mix of presses, holds, and double taps using the two touch buttons on the scale, but the minimalism is part of the device's cool form factor. I'm using a V60 Brewguide that I made using a mix of Rao/Hoffman's method that I programmed into the scale using the Brewguide app; the apps aren't perfect but they get the job done. Is it expensive? Most definitely, but it's an amazing luxury item that is a pleasure to use.

The scale has outstanding features, but using Brewguide app can be quite complicated. I have been told they will beupdating the Brewguide app to make it easier to use. If that happens, then I would give the Pearl S 5 stars. Acaiasupport is much better than I initially anticipated, excellent support from Acaia. Communication is also excellent inregards to not just help but also response time. Without a doubt, this is the best looking scale I’ve ever seen. Thenumbers are easy to read. I will say the previous heat resistant mat would, in my observation, cover more surface area,thereby offering more protection from spills, etc. Overall, with an easier Brewguide app to come, 5 stars would be myrating. It will say that there’s nothing about this scale that is intuitive— but I stuck with it, read the manual several times, got the app. Now I feel it’s just fine and has many advantages over every other scale I’ve used. I love the Recipe guide and my pour overs have never been better as a result. The scale looks great too.

Why are there even other scales on the market. This is far and away the best!!! App could use a little work though.
