Overview

B&W calls this coffee their ode to the origins of coffee. A washed Ethiopian coffee with citrus, honey, and chocolate notes which provides a really solid understanding of of B&W’s roasting chops. This is a delicious roast in a variety of brew methods, and a great place to start with B&W’s catalog. This particular lot comes from the Halo Hartume washing station, located in the Yirgacheffe region. This makes this roast a great intro to Ethiopian coffee, on top of being exemplary of B&W’s roasting style.

Yummy!

Really enjoyed the "flavor" of this coffee. I have just run it through my espresso machine, but love the honey/chocolate notes. I don't get much of the citrus which is great since I don't care for it. I have to admit, I just picked a bag of coffee to increase my total purchase to qualify for free shipping :) This was an amazingly wonderful "pick" and was good enough that I will order it again!

Taste was awful

It was the worse coffee I can ever remember drinking. I threw it away, so one can imagine had I disliked it.

Not only an excellent choice for an intro to African coffees, but excellent coffee, overall.

If you're interested in trying African coffees, I recommend this. It is different enough without straying far from the familiar. The tasting notes describing chocolate and honey are spot-on.I rate it at 5 stars because of its good balance and its consistency in both my superauto and drip machines.I'm OK trying coffees described as 'adventurous', and fairly recently have purchased 8 or 9 different African coffees. It's a fun journey, and I will continue to try more of them. With one exception, I've enjoyed the differences in tastes from my usual favorites.I've learned something from ALL of them - even the ones I don't end up liking enough to buy again.Sadly, a couple of the ones I found to be amazing coffees ended up being sold out, and I haven't seen them again. This one seems like it's in stock often enough, so I'll definitely be buying this one again.
