Overview

The Bodum Brazil French Press pairs the simplicity of press-style coffee with a sturdy BPA-free plastic base to help prevent bumps and spills. The Brazil's borosilicate glass carafe and stainless steel mesh filter pair to make a rich, full-bodied brew just like you remember, while the revised handle and base improve handling and help prevent minor mishaps. Available in Black or Red colorways.

NOTE: All of Bodum's coffee and tea makers are measured in European cup sizes: 1 Cup = about 4 ounces.

Lovin it

With a little practice, and a new milk frother, I'm making a really good latte. I love it.

Does what a French press should

Does what it says on the tin. I?m happy with the look. No fuss cleaning it or brewing. With a 60 gram per liter recipe I topped out at about 750 ml of water in which produces two big mugs of coffee or three or four more modest ones.

Standard French Press - does the job well!

Love my new french press. I purchased the black one and it works well. The only criticism I might have is that if you pour too quickly it runs over the edge all over the counter. Then the bottom plastic frame keeps the coffee and when you pour a second time that drips on the counter ;-( Just pour slower ;-)

Cheap and Durable French Press

Pretty much exact what you would expect. Got the job done, and so far seems pretty durable. Big props for how quick Seattle Coffee Gear got it to me.

Perfect

Easy to use. Exactly like photo and function depicted on website. Most important of all: produces GREAT dark roast. 100% recommend for a price point like this.

Big fan of the Bodum French Press

I am loving my new Bodum Brazil French press. I like that the carafe is secured by the handle too!

Ooh La La!

This is my third Bodum French Press. My first one is over 10 years old (Swiss made) and still functional. My second one is for a single cup and also still functional. The new design is better since the glass is more secure in the holder and the lid prevents any floating grounds from landing in your drink. It produces excellent French Press coffee and it is easy to clean.Another great SCG purchase!

Coffee great, but not enough per serving.

Like what is coming out of the product and the price, but thought that the coffee size of the three cup was 8 fl. oz. per cup and was disappointed about the amount of coffee I could make at one setting.

Great Product

Really love this product, only problem I am having is removing the glass beaker for cleaning, but maybe it isn't made to come out of the red cage....anyone have advice for this small inconvenience?

New to using French Press. Can a filter be used in the Bodum Brazil French Press?

Is the press (obviously, minus the lid) dishwasher safe?

Rupert S.

I am not sure. I have never washed my French Press in the dishwasher.

Dylan N.

Yes but stuff gets in between the base and glass. My dad puts the whole thing in the dishwasher, even the lid. I'm happy enough with mine. I have 3 of them.

Shanti S.

I throw everything into the dishwasher. Haven't noticed any negative impacts.

BARBARA H.

I wouldn't recommend it. The glass is very fragile. Just a sponge with detergent its ok.

Alexander J.S.

Sure is. I've routinely washed the carafe on the bottom rack with the plunger on the top rack. Plus, you you can easily disassemble the plunger into its 3 pieces by hand so there are no grounds stuck in the filter or its support.

Can I use this (or any french press) to make cold brew coffee?

Teri K.

Yes, I have successfully made cold brew coffee in a french press and so I would certainly say to give it a try!

do you use a fine grind with this?

Richard S.

I grind my beans very fine. Use 500ml of water to just a little under 1/4 cup of coffee. Bring the water to temperature when the a small puff of steam comes out of kettle. Use a wooden spoon to break the surface tension. Put the top on and brew for 5-7 minutes. Yum.

Teri K.

No, a French Press uses a coarse grind.
