Filter Holder Change increases Breville Models it'll work on.

You don't include BES840XL (INFUSER) as Compatible. That's because the Filter Holder in the 840 is for the old, smaller, old style Breville filters. I got the Filter Holder for the CLARO & it fits perfectly in the 840's Water Tank. On the Cover of the INFUSER Box it even shows the CLARO filter.

A must have for good water

This is an important part of good espresso. I only use this brand. I don't trust third party versions. Especially when it is something I am ingesting.

Required for some Breville machines

This is often hard to get! I sure hope it works as well as advertised, specifically for me, the hard water reduction.Breville says this will reduce the need for some hard water cleaning of our espresso machine.So far so good.Seattle had these, and the price was fairly good.thanks

I just received a replacement dual-boiler, BES920, that had this filter in the box. The filter all shows up on the Breville website. Has this been a recent change by Breville to get away from the cartridge filters?

Yes, this new filter fits newer BES920s. I don't know if the old-style "pods" can still be used somehow.

I have a Barista Pro, which lists compatibility with this filter. The Barista Pro by default comes the smaller Breville charcoal filter. Does this product come with the bracket to use it?

I just purchased the Breville Barista pro, I live in Indiana and my tap water leaves mineral deposits all over my sinks and shower. I usually fill my coffee makers and will fill my espresso maker from a Brita. Is it worth switching to this filter compared to the charcoal/resin filters that come with the unit?

Hi Adam,If you are already using filtered water you should be safe, but of you want to make extra certain you can try installing one of these filters and measuring water hardness before and after running it through the filter. Generally though, you should be fine if you stick to pre-filtered water.
