Overview

Over time, your original rubber gasket will compress, dry out, and crack. Easiest way to tell your gasket is on its way out? Your portafilter leaks a little around the group or you have to crank your portafilter all the way over for a good seal. Refresh your group with this Caffewerks Silicone Gasket to bring your machine back to perfection. Made from sturdy silicon, these replacement gaskets last significantly longer than rubber OEM gaskets—and hold on to oils and grounds less making it easier to keep clean. This 8mm gasket is just the right size for most home E61 machines, including Rocket Espresso, Diletta, and more.

Silicone group gasket works great!

I tried this silicone group gasket as an experiment initially. It has worked so well I plan to install this gasket on all of my espresso machines. It presents less friction to the portafilter basket so it seals up better and with much less force on the bayonet mount of the portafilter. That's a win on every side! Less wear and tear on the group head and less effort on my part when making espresso shots. I love it.

Promising but short lived

First time using silicone ring however only able to use for a short time. Follow SCG guides on aligning ring and ensuring evening distribution. Perfectly clocked to 6pm position each time. However about 2 weeks after using it, there was a 1/8 to 1/4 inch split diagonal through on the ring. Use not different than before which previous rubber gasket lasted over a year without any splits. A bit disappointed as supposed longevity however fell short.

Works ok on Diletta Bello

It fits ok. It is a bit thick and I can no longer position the portafilter at 90 degrees. It's been installed for about a month and still not compressed any more to allow for better positioning. Perhaps over time?

Does the job!

Awesome! That, with the metal strainer on top of my beans, has made all the difference in the world with the thick crema filled pulls I am now getting! Will be back again!

Great for Gaggia classic pro evo

I replaced a pretty new red oem gasket with this 8mm product on my GCP Evo to remedy a shades of coffee protafilter that would not turn to 6 o'clock. This did the trick. The oem portafilter goes in effortlessly too, maybe a little easier than the shades one. No leaks so far. The size difference didn't seem like a full 1/2mm from the oem red gasket but perhaps a little more pliable and better material. I'm satisfied and recommend.

Does not fit Nuova Simonelli Oscar II

I fought and fought to get this into a Nuova Simonelli Oscar II. I used a food-safe silicone lubricant. Tried to remove and reinsert it several times. The OD is simply too large. Looks and feels like a quality product in every other respect.

Excellent

Excellent replacement gasket, superior to the original gasket installed in my new Diletta Mio Mazarine.

Like new again.

Works great. My GAGGIA CLASSIC works like new again. Actually, it works Better than new because now I know how to get the best espresso out of it. I am so happy :)

Better Feel and Experience

My Classic gasket had begun sticking to the portafilter basket, so I replaced it with this. The better compression makes it much easier attaching the portafilter, and just a better overall "feel" in use.

Awesome product! fits my gaggia classic just fine, works well with the barista pro nanotech baskets and no longer is my basket sticking too the gasket and being pulled out of the portafilter lol

Does it fit Profitec Go group?

Jake B.

Hi Sergio, I do not believe this would fit a Profitec Go, the grouphead diameter appears to be a little different than the standard E61 group. While we don't carry Profitec machines, it could be worth reaching out to them, or the original seller of your machine to ensure fitment.

How do you put it in the machine?

Seattle Coffee Gear

You need to very carefully drop the shower screen. I usually work my way around it with a slotted screwdriver to carefully pry it out (downwards). Once removed, you'll see how the gasket slips over the body of the shower screen. This is a good time to do a good cleaning of everything while you're at it. To re-install, start to push it back up into the group. It is going to take some time to seat correctly and you'll notice the portafilter will now be a very tight fit - sometimes not even able to engage. Be patient and keep pushing it up. Once seated, you can use the portafilter to really secure into place.

There are two sides of this gasket. One side has the the name embossed in it, the other side is flat plain. Which side faces the ceiling and which faces the counter when the machine is upright on the counter? A little piece of paper telling you which is correct would be smart.

Sean B.

The gasket that comes on the machine has the chamfer facing up. The chamfer matches up with the flare on the shower screen.

Rob G.

Flat side toward ceiling on mine and it works as expected.

Christopher C.

The side with the name and slightly chamfered edges faces up, and the flatter, squared-edge side faces down and contacts the portafilter.

Alicia C.

I never noticed the raised embossed name! I’m sure after cleaning, which I do weekly, I’ve inserted it both ways, and haven’t noticed a difference in the quality of the seal when inserting the portafilter. So think either way is fine. However, now that you brought this to my attention I will likely always insert it with the embossed name up, to give the portafilter that much better of a seal.

Kent F.

The flat side/no logo side will face down, and is the side that contacts with the portafilter.

John S.

WATCH THE SCG VIDEO on youtube -- they wont let me attach the link! They get to the gasket at around 9 minutes. im pretty sure the flat side goes up and the rounded shoulders are down.

Paul R.

The flat side faces up.
