This unique one-piece, hourglass-shaped vessel offers a great starting point or additional tool for your pourover toolset. All you need to get started is grounds, a filter, and hot water! People like the Chemex Coffeemaker and other pourover devices because they help to remove the bitterness from the coffee. not great

I am not crazy about them. They often leak even when folded correctly. I wish they came prefolded.

Chemex 3-cup Filter Review

These 3-cup filters work as advertised, producing a much cleaner cup than the various metal cone filters. But why can't Chemex make a filter for adults that just comes out of the box and goes into the brewer? Why all the folding like some kind of origami?I also found that these filters still take effort to keep them from forming into the pour-channel when they get saturated. Yes, the filter was oriented exactly as instructed, and I still had to stick a straw in the channel to keep it open.

Have been using these filters for years. So happy you carry them. Coffee made with the Chemex system (carafe and filters) is superb.

I've used them for years with the exception of when I used a French press.I switched back to the chemex because the process is easier on my gut. I tend to use organic or "natural" products, so I might start using unbleached filters. I tried them and even with rinsing I didn't like the taste of my coffee. I like your company, your employees, your products. Thank you. SusanCharlottesville, VA

You get what you pay for...

These filters work better than any I've purchased at a grocery store. They are definitely thicker. It appears to trap all the sediment and oils that sometimes got through cheaper filters. They also don't fold over or fall into my Chemex coffee maker. Great product! I was also surprised at how quickly I received my order from Seattle Coffee Gear.

I got a straight deal

Last time I bought on Amazon, I paid $17 and I would have gladly paid that much again, but they were no longer available anywhere. Finally found them here but priced at $8.50 instead, about half. Thought it might be a scam, but I need my filters, so I took a chance and ordered three. Received a few days later wo problem. So thank you SCG for being legit

Best filter

I never knew it would be this hard to find these filters at this time so thanks for stocking them! It shipped so quickly in such a timely manner. I really appreciate your service. In my opinion, this type is the best coffee filter and I prefer this kind over the unbleached and bonded types. I always love the folding part during the preparation! And this one is thicker and filters well so it taste smoother and cleaner, which I prefer. Sometime if I don't feel wanting to drink this filtered coffee I just choose to brew with a french press, lol.

A Must-Have for Chemex 3-cup coffeemaker

These filters are a little bit more time-consuming to use than the Chemex filters for larger Chemex pots, but they work well and clean up is easy. I compost the used grounds and filters.

are the filters chemex brand or generic?

James S.

Yes, these were genuine Chemex brand filters when I purchased them - perfect.

Zachary A.

These were name brand when I purchased them.

I have the Chemex bonded filters the FP-2, half circles designed for 1-3 cups that fit into the Chemex carafe. The filters I see on the site state they are for 3 cups. Want to order some before the ones I have run out. Which ones should I order?

Amy G.

I have used the FSU-100 (those that fits most or all sizes of Chemex) and the unfolded half moon filters for my 3 cup Chemex, and I give a slight edge in performance to the half moon filters b/c they were designed for the 3 cup Chemex. The box you might find to be a bit large though?

Joseph M.

order the FP-2 from chemex

Maude V.

The FP-2, unfolded half-moon filters are specifically for the small 1-3 cup Chemex carafe. You don't have to make 3 cups of coffee each time, but considering the fact that a Chemex "cup" is 5 ounces, making the full three "cups" yields only 15 ounces. You can get a yield of 16 ounces if you overfill a little so you and a friend can have a mug of coffee at the same time. The folded circle or square filters (one of my boxes of natural squares says "FSU-100") are for the larger six, eight, ten and now-discontinued 2-13 cup Chemex coffeemakers. Does this answer your question?

Lynette M.

These filters are the FP-2 (if you click the Additional Information tab you will see that). I use these in my 1-3 cup Chemex. Hope this helps.
