With blend names like Fast Forward and Hologram, Counter Culture Coffee better be as forward-thinking as its branding suggests! If you take a look into the history of this Durham, NC-based coffee roaster, you’ll find a little bit of disruption and a whole lot of innovation along the way. Counter Culture Coffee was founded in 1995 by two coffee-lovers with a mission: to produce sustainable, eco-friendly coffee beans. In fact, it was one of the first shade-grown coffee makers around and launched a shade-grown, bird-friendly line of coffee in 1997.

I order around 5 coffees at a time. If I don't like the taste, I write "no" on the bag and file ...

I like the taste. No bitterness.

Great choice

We were glad we ordered Counter Culture Apollo. The flavor is nice and the taste pleasant. I drink it black without adding anything so I appreciate a great stand alone coffee.

Perfect, Fruity Coffee!

Everything from the individual citrusy notes to the aroma of this coffee is incredible! I keep on trying to branch out and get something new, but I always end up coming back to it.

Does this make good espresso, or is it meant for coffee?

Ray M.

Its a blend and it makes great espresso. Its one for the few using only Ethiopian beans

Excellent espresso. Nice citrus tones. One of my favorites.

John T.

Makes good coffee. Not sure about espresso didn’t try that. Probably somewhat light for espresso

Denise K.

I have used it for both. I am not much of a super bold espresso drinker either.
