Overview

Make excellent espresso with the Open Box Diletta Mio Espresso Machine. Tailored for energy efficiency without sacrificing in-cup quality, the Mio makes standout espresso thanks to its PID equipped single boiler, while a separate steam circuit offers easy work when milk drinks are a must. Quick access to temperature controls, shot times, and brew pressure lets you set up the Mio for bright single origins or traditional comfort blends alike. Milk drinks are managed differently; a second pump and heating element allow for simultaneous steaming without affecting your carefully-chosen brew parameters. The Mio also excels at efficiency, with a low power draw at idle (thanks to its tight PID temperature control, insulated boiler, and short water path), selectable steam circuit, and optional Eco mode that restricts power when not in use. Best of all, the Mio offers handmade Italian craftsmanship and excellent serviceability, ensuring it will help make espresso you love for years to come.

Lots of features for a good price!

I have been very pleased by the machine. It arrived well packaged and in good condition; all expected accessories were present, except for the scoop (which I don't want anyway). After reviewing the startup instructions, I reset the "1st" setting in the PID controls to get the boiler refilled. The temperature had already been set to Celsius by the previous owner, and this had not been changed during the return process. Everything has operated well since the initial setup. My only complaint would be the positioning of the drip tray, which can be easily knocked off the correct position. I'm currently using some magnets to help hold it in place, but I plan to 3d print an appropriate bracket in the future. While this is a small issue, it could likely be fixed with very minimal additional cost to the product.

Very happy with this machine!

Works great! Love the ease of use and the separate steam block. The steaming is perfect for me as I am a beginner and don't require crazy steam. Fit and finish is really nice.

quality control issues?

The first one of these I got was defective. The steamer worked once, then quit. SCG staff was quick and courteous and friendly and suggested I try an easy repair. I did. The steamer, worked once again, then quit again. SCG cheerfully had me return the unit at their expense. The second one I got was also defective. It wouldn't pump water into the boiler. Again, SCG staff couldn't have been nicer. Again I shipped it back at their expense.Maybe I just had terrible luck? Anyway I ended up with a new Mio, which has been working just fine for almost a week now, and which I like quite a lot.
