Equator Coffee
Created by business partners Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell in 1995, Equator Coffee & Teas started in a garage in Marin County, California, and is now one of the most beloved roasters in the Golden State. What turned Equator from a small-scale, garage-based coffee roaster to the powerhouse micro-roaster it is today? It all comes down to their ability to build lasting relationships with the farmers who grow their beans, most of whom live in South America, Central America and Africa.

Equator Coffee Mocha Java Blend definitely exhibits chocolate notes. I experience this coffee as smooth, balanced toward the bitter side, with a medium mouth feel, almost creamy on the palate. I like it ground at 8M on my Vario-W and then brewed through my Bonavita drip coffee maker. With my Bonavita I find I need a coarser grind with most beans to eliminate some of the bitter notes. But as we know, how we enjoy our coffee is as unique as our fingerprints, so you can adjust your grind to find the right balance for you. Overall, if you like coffee and chocolate, I think you'll enjoy this organic blend of beans. Happy sipping!!
I really liked this coffee. It had a good body that stood up to milk and was very flavorful. I could taste the chocolaty notes and it was well balanced. I ran it through my superautomatic machine and, while I enjoyed it, I would have preferred a bit less acid. I know superautomatics can pull more sour notes out of medium roasts and there are some fruity notes in this coffee. I think it would be more amazing with another brewing method like a french press or pourover. Definately worth a try.
This coffee was a disappointing purchase. While organic is important the taste experience just was not available. The almond, berry, and mocha flavors could have been tasty.
This looks exactly like the picture and tastes fantastic. I have tried the Ladro, Intelligentsia, and Tony's before and I love the smooth rich mocha taste of this coffee bean!! I am looking forward to trying more like this, It didn't really stand out as mocha intense but you could certainly taste the flavor and smoothness of it. No bitter after taste either which a lot of fancy beans can produce. Even after trying it black, I tried it English style with cream and sugar and either way THIS WAS DELICOUS.
The coffee had the same consistency for the whole bag. I was sastified with the flavor and roast.
Really enjoy this bag of coffee beans. Delicious!
Wonderful aroma and rich, delicious taste. Will certainly buy again.
Amazing taste! I used this in my new Breville barista express! I made espresso, cappuccino and frappes. Has a rich dark chocolate taste everyone loved
I received this as a free gift with my new Breville drip coffee maker. I love chocolate notes with my coffee, so this turned out to be a great blend for me. It does not taste bitter and the flavor is great with my almond milk. Will have to order again!
