Overview

Grinding for to-go customers was never this easy. The Eureka Drogheria MCD4 Bulk Grinder is designed specifically for large batches of beans at a time—without sacrificing the grind quality Eureka has become known for. The MCD4 is built for extended service life from the ground-up with a 750W motor meant for volume, 85mm flat burrs, and an outsized grind chute with bag clip for easy cleaning. Further, the MCD4 features Eureka's unique 'Easy Setting' grind adjust system. This stepless setup adjusts from French press-coarse to Turkish-fine in one full revolution of the grind knob. Super quiet, fast and simple

It is super amazing!!! The problems with grinders are they are super cheap or super expensive. No middle ground. This is the best middle ground grinder that will last a life time. I got this for Turkish grounds at my house. I have the counter space for it to fit. But this is too big for most house use. But it is well worst the money. Super quiet, fast and simple. I just scale my doses. No need for timing technology.

Fantastic bulk grinder

Only about 15lbs in to date, so I believe it's still breaking in the burrs, but it is producing an excellent, consistent grind. Rips through a 2lb bag of beans in about 1 minute. It has a superb range of grinds from Turkish fine to French press coarse. I would like it to produce just a bit coarser grind on the coarsest setting, but I believe that will come with further burr break-in. The finest setting creates a wonderful grind that can choke mediocre psi machines. Great range, uniformity, and consistent grind. Paired with the optional bellows on the hopper, it is perfect for our needs.

Get it Eureka

We have only had it a short time, but it has been terrific so far. I do wish it created a lot less static, as the grounds can be a little messy.

Outstanding grinder

This grinder is fantastic. We bought it for our small roasting buisness and it is perfect. It will grind a pound in no time. It is also significantly quieter than our Barataza Virtuoso plus that we have for home use. It is very well made, if it wasn't quite so big I would almost be willing to get one for home use also... With the quality of this grinder, we will be sticking with the Eureka brand whenever possible.

We are a 5 person household drinking 5-10 espresso shots a day, often under pressure running out the door very early. The one shot at a time grinder causes coffee traffic jams. I know it's not as good, but we'd like to grind a bag or half a bag in advance, pretty finely and reliably. Could this be a solution for us? (We live in a small New York apartment, so we would out the grinder in an upper cabinet when not in use to save counter space.)

Patrick C.

Hello! The Drogheria is indeed capable of an espresso grind, but it's worth noting that it's designed for grinding large quantities in commercial settings, so it may not give you the precision control for brewing more delicate light roasts that a smaller single dose grinder would.I will say though, this is an enormous grinder. I would not recommend it for use in a cabinet, it is very, very heavy and very tall. As someone with a small Seattle apartment I would never be able to fit it in my kitchen! Best of luck!

Does the Eureka Drogheria MCD4 85 come with the small hopper and blow up like shown in the video?

Daniel R.

It comes with the large hopper shown in the main photo. We use it as a "pass-through" grinder, so we purchased a short hopper. Although the blow function hoppers are compatible, I was steered away from them. It seems like that was the right move. More complexity for little real-world function. It has been a fantastic machine.

If you get the 65 mm version, can the burr mechanism be swapped out for 85mm?

Patrick C.

Hello! You cannot swap the burrs for different sizes. The carriers are designed for the size that comes in the grinder.

Does the Drogheria grind as accurately as the Atom 65 and Atom 75? How do the shots taste compared to the Atom 65 and 75. Since this is designed as a bulk grinder I want to make sure there is no sacrifice in shot quality for grind speed.

Patrick C.

While the Drogheria is a stepless grinder, it's not quite as precise as the Atom series. Those grinders are specifically designed to do very small adjustments for espresso ground in single shot quantities. The Drogheria can get close, but isn't as precise or easy to fine-tune as an Atom as it is designed for bulk grinding.
