Fantastic grinder!!

I love this grinder! It has improved the quality of my espresso shots tremendously. I never knew it could be like this. The beans grind up to a perfect, consistent, fluffy mound and the taste and consistency of my shots are just what I wanted.

Great grinder at a great price

Finally upgraded to this from an encore and the difference is night and day. Between the consistency, adjustability and speed of the grind to an almost silent grind. My only regret is waiting this long to upgrade

Great grinder and very quiet. You can pay a lot more without getting anything more refined for regular home use, so this one has been terrific for me.

Thank you, Seattle Coffee Gear! You're the best!

We replaced an ancient Lelit budget unit with the Silenzio. We're incredibly happy with the upgrade! The most minor of quibbles? The startup torque makes the unit shift counter-clockwise by a degree or two every time it's operated. After filling up seven or eight portafilters over the course of several days, we have to reposition the unit by rotating it the appropriate amount clockwise so it sits perpendicular to the adjacent wall! The horror! Seriously, just buy it. The quietness is well worth the extra dollars.

98% on point with only a minor miss

I suffer from tinnitus due to years of working with power tools. My old grinder was just killing my ears and giving me headaches. I found this one and it is half as loud, tops. The quality of grind and consistency is top tier, and I love the infinite adjustment to really dial it in. Additionally, it has almost no static, and does not retain a bunch of grounds inside the machine. About the only mark that was missed is the portafilter holder. Due to the angle the grounds come out of the machine, you get some "over spray" onto the counter, and I have to stop and level out the grounds several times. I just stopped using it and grind into a small measuring cup and scoop it into the portafilter now. With the timer, I can dial in exactly how much I need for a single shot.

"SILENZIO"

I love it. The grinder lives up to its "Silenzio" name. The grinder is heavier than any I have owned, but I feel like I got what I have paid for. Very well made.

Still not perfect

Using a pair of Silenzios for years, one set for press, the other espresso, as it's too difficult to change settings across a wide range. The coarse setting does pass more fines than my previous Virtuoso (or current Ode), but is certainly acceptable. The espresso-set one clogs easily, as the exhaust chutes are too narrow. If jammed it has to have a wrench-socket forced torquing to clear! Gets annoying. So 4 stars for drip/press (fines), 4 stars for espresso (clogging).

Nice with room for improvement...

Overall I would say that this grinder is a nice unit for the money. There are a few items that I would like to see improved including a decent portafilter holder. The non adjustable and filmsy bracket is pretty much worthless for me and my La Pavoni bottomless portafilter. Also, the dial for the grind size is very accurate and steepless, but it is difficult to return to the exact same setting if you change the grind by any substantial amount. The good news is that you can grind very fine, so I have no problem getting a powdery grind that I need for the La Pavoni. And the grinder is nice and quiet compared to my old Roncilio Rocky. Finally, this grinder takes a bit of time to get used to but overall I am happy with the results

Great little grinder

This was a replacement for a Ceado E5p whose burrs slowly became so dull no espresso. So with smaller burrs and less power there was a learning curve for me since I single dose. Smaller size and much quieter than my previous grinder, however grinds slower with more retention. Still adjusting to the retention but may now have a solution since most of the retention seems to be in the chute. A quick tap on the counter with front feet puts the ground coffee back in dosing cup. Took no time to dial in, dial is touchy but exact. As with every step on the espresso journey, still a work in progress with now great results, naturally sweet espresso with great crema.

Excellent grinder with great build quality

It's exactly what I was expecting and what I needed to step up my espresso game. The build quilts is excellent. It surprised me how heavy it is, indicating the amount of steel used vs plastic. I don't have anything to compare the quietness to, but it does seem quiet to me.

Why pay more.

This grinder replaced a worn-out grinder. This one works far better than the old one did when it was new. I?d mention the make, but SCG might not like my slamming one of their favorites. I?ve never used this model?s timer feature. I know exactly how many beans to add in order to fill my 58mm portafiller, so filling the hopper is something I?ve never done. Besides, no one has provided me with a valid reason to put beans in an unsealed hopper exposed to light all day, both of which speed up the process of turning once fresh beans into stale. This is a great grinder, fits under my 16? high kitchen cabinet, & with it?s infinite settings, I?ve finally found the correct setting that works best with my espresso machine.

Very nice grinder.

Works great, overall very happy. Making tasty espresso with our rocket. If I could change anything, the little tiny timer knob is hard to use. Haven't had to take it apart for much cleaning yet, so I don't know about that.

Consistent grind and very quiet

I finally decided to step up my grinding game after years of the DB-8. It was fine for me, but I was ready to graduate to a more consistent grind and higher quality of cuppa. I forked over the extra cash for the Silenzio because of the claim about not waking up the rest of the house when you use it. Here to say that claim is spot on. It's a lot of money to spend, but every single time I grind it's with the relief of knowing it's going to be consistent, and I won't be enduring the screech of the motor blasting my eardrums. Life can be like this. How nice.

Overall a great improvement from the target grinder I had but 4/5 because I have been experiencing some issues with static. Wish there was a way to deal with that.

First dedicated espresso grinder, worth every penny

As someone who has a baratza encore, this grinder is incredibly quiet. Grind size is uniform, and once I got used to the stepless settings dialing in shots was easy. My only gripe is that the timer's max time is just barely long enough for my 20g basket. Other than that I just wish I would have purchased this sooner.

The perfect espresso grinder

Eureka is the perfect match for my La Pavoni Professional. My espressos have never been better because of the consistent and fine grind. The Eureka Silenzio replaced a Baratza. I couldn't be happier.

Quite and Clean

Quality and Quiet operation

Very quiet operation, great grind control. No issues with grinding into my portafilter for Breville Bambino, but it isn?t quite as user friendly as my previous grinder- made by Breville so obviously designed for it. The main differences are that the portafilter doesn?t fit straight on top of the forks and there isn?t a built in tray to catch overflow. None of these things have really mattered to me though because the machine feels much more sturdy and of a higher build quality; which is what I was looking for.

Cold brew, French press, pourover, espresso, and Turkish

I splurged on this grinder because I needed one that could handle all the different ways that I make coffee. I've been extremely happy with it. It's substantially quieter than the Capresso it replaced. I have no complaints with it. The only thing that takes some getting used to is adjusting the grind when moving in extremes. If you've loosened it to its coarsest setting, I find it best to re-tighten it a half-turn at a time, running the grinder at each half-turn - that said, I also do not keep the hopper full. I only grind what I am going to use at brewing time. If you're looking for a grinder where you can store a hopper full of beans and easily adjust for different grinds, this probably isn't the machine for you.

Great Grinder, quiet and well built

Very well built grinder and quiet as a Church mouse! Pretty basic features but the timed grind works well and the find grind looks/brews as it should. Definitely a nice step up from my Barataza Virtuoso.

Love the Silenzio!

I watched a few video reviews before buying this grinder, but I am very pleased with the ease of use. It loads easily and adjusts so well.

Solid Upgrade but Not Perfect

I upgraded to the Silenzio from a Breville Smart Grinder Pro.While I do think this is a worthy upgrade, it's not perfect for espresso. Pros: It really is "Silenzio". Fairly high quality of grind at a decently quick pace.Cons: microclumping and a bit of popcorning if you are trying to single dose. Also the hook that you rest your portafilter on had the wrong side polished on my machine. I have found using a WDT has helping quite a bit with channelling.

Solid Quality and Precision

Absolutely love this grinder. It IS quiet, as the name suggests, solid, nice weight- no need to worry about it sliding while grinding. Easy to to work on grind precision. Consistent. Looks awesome (just wish the Eureka logo was placed on the front rather than the back). Love the button for selecting Auto or Manual. I use the Auto for the larger 22g filter basket and manual for the smaller 15g basket. The hopper's neck slide-stopper is good (because I can exchange the beans anytime), but the design could be improved; some bean fragments come out from the opening, but nothing that bothers me too much.I wholeheartedly recommend this grinder to anyone.

Great grinder...

We are loving this grinder so far. It's very quiet and easy to tweak the grind for different beans. We've run about 5-6 pounds of beans through it so far for our Rancilio Silvia.

Elegant tank of a grinder

Really exceptional experience with this grinder. The matte black is gorgeous. The grinds are fluffy. The grinding is fast and quiet. It’s also just a pretty machine and feels well-made. I expect to keep it running for life. Very happy with my purchase.
