Key Features

  • Electronic Temp Control - Accurate to the degree, you can set the Stagg EKG anywhere from 104º and 212º.
  • Analog Controls - Controls are intuitive with a single button-dial on the front and rear-mounted switches for holding temperature and setting temperature scale.
  • Gooseneck Spout - Mounted low on the kettle with a curved shape and fluted tip, gooseneck pour spouts offer better accuracy and control than standard kettles.
  • 60 Minute Hold - With the hold switch on, the EKG will stay at temperature for up to an hour before shutting off.
  • Brew Timer - Press-and-hold the dial down for one second (with the kettle at-temp and off-base) to start a brew timer.
  • Color Options - Match your kettle to your kitchen with colors available in black, copper, and stainless steel.

Overview

Classy and capable, Fellow's Stagg EKG Variable Temperature Kettle flaunts modern design and easy to use controls. The EKG starts with basics from the original Stagg—conical shape, ergonomic handle and fluted spout—and adds a matching minimalist plinth reminiscent of a vintage turntable. There, an analog jog wheel lets you set temp with a twist, while binary switches on the back of the base designate degrees (Fº or Cº), and whether you want your kettle to hold temp automatically.

Excellent kettle

I would highly recommend this kettle. It heats extremely fast. It pours exceptionally well and looks great on the counter. Built in time is a plus.

Amazing product!

Amazing product! Only complaint is I wish it held a bit more water. Other than that, there isn’t another on the market i’d prefer!

Stagg EKG Kettle System: Upgrade Your Pour Over Skills

I purchased the polished stainless steel model and it looks super sharp in the kitchen, complimenting my Baratza Virtuoso grinder. I'm giving the EKG kettle system 5 stars but there are a couple of things to add to SCG reviews: 1. My first EKG arrived and the handle connection to the kettle was loose and couldn't be resolved by tightening the handle screw. Also, the kettle kept over-shooting the set temp by 4 degrees so I had to wait for the temp to drop with the timer running to continue the pour over. Fellow Customer Service was all over it and got me a replacement in record time! Top marks for service. When the 2nd EKG arrived the handle was fine but the temp still over-shoots by 4 degrees. I decided to just compromise and set target under by 2 degrees so that I can keep pouring but not exceed 204 degrees. 2. I love the pour timer: hold down the temp set button for 1 second and you get a count-down of 3 seconds before the timer starts, allowing you to position your kettle before the timer starts. Brilliant! 3. This system has allowed me to tighten up my pour over game and achieve better cups, which is critical if you're buying high-priced SO beans and trying to get the cupping profile the roaster enticed you with.

Great for the pour-over aficionado.

Looks very stylish on my counter top. Well insulated, so it holds temp when off it;s base. Simple controls without added electronic distractions. Slow, steady flow rate which is great for any type of pour-over.

Perfect Device

Sometimes, a device does exactly what it is supposed to do, elegantly and consistently. I love this kettle.

looks nice, works well

love using this for my daily coffee. heats up really quickly, and love that i can keep the temp stable while doing multiple pours. the stream that comes out is pretty consistent also. it also looks nice on the counter.that being said, i have two main pain points on this. 1) the ring of metal on the base of the handle does get hot, so you have to watch your fingers. 2) i wish that the stream stayed consistent when it's thinner; i feel that i can't pour slowly without it feeing sputtery. at this price point, i wish there weren't any complaints.

Easy path to the perfect pour over.

I'm a big fan of pour-over coffee. I have been using a standard tea kettle and a thermometer. It worked OK, but pouring a trickle out of a one-inch spout was a challenge. I decided to up my game with the Stag EKG. It's marvelous! The water remains at the perfect temperature and the pour spout is perfect. I'll never use anything else.

Lovely Bougie Buy

Beautiful, fast-boiling kettle. Feels great in the hand and looks bougie in the best way — minimal, well-designed and super easy to use. I do wish it had some audio feature to alert me when the water is done. Oh, and maybe an automatic shut-off even when the HOLD mode is on. But really, NBD. 10/10 enhances the brewing tea + coffee pour over experience.

Best in Class

It’s the Tesla of gooseneck kettles

This an elegant and simple kettle. I replaced a defective Bonavita that could not hit a target temp and hold it. For some reason the Bonavita had 6 control buttons while the Fellow Stagg manages the same function with one. It is well made and does exactly what it is supposed to. Highly recommend.

Love it! Pour control is great as is the temperature hold function. I really like the simple, elegant design. Now if I could only figure out the best grind and temps to use!

5 star kettle, 3 star base.

While the kettle itself is a beautiful piece of engineering, the manufacturing of the base is not up to the same standard. The buttons have a very cheap feel to them, loose with lots of play, particularly in the back where there is virtually no indent, or positive engagement. The power cord is very nice and thick, but extremely short and stiff, limiting your options for placement. When you pick up the kettle you feel quality, when using the controls on the base you feel cheap, Chinese junk. The kettle itself heats extremely fast, with a beautiful, controlled pour, but a small annoyance is that every time you take the lid off to fill the kettle water drips off the lid. While some complain of the handle feeling awkward to use I find it very comfortable, with several options of hand position. I have doubts the base will last long enough to justify the exorbitant cost of this kettle, but we shall see! I’m certainly keeping my receipt, just in case...

Beauty & Function!

I love this kettle! It is a beautiful and functional design. Its so nice to have a product that is designed to do one thing extremely well and not have a bunch of added on gimmicks or parts that fall off. It is spot on in delivering water at the temperature I want every time. This makes me smile every morning when preparing my pour over. Thanks Seattle Coffee Gear!

Good but expensive

Works well and looks nice, as advertised, but the price is 2 or even 3 times more than other kettles that are just as good or at least close enough. It's slightly quieter than my other kettles when heating but still makes plenty of noise. One thing that bothers me is that the power cord plug is angled which forces me to use the bottom slot of a wall AC outlet. And the cord is extra short.

So far so good!

Comfortable to hold, great control, brew timer is super helpful, and the hold temp is a great feature. I appreciate that the switches are hidden in the back of the base and out of sight. Holds enough water for two cups of coffee which is great for just myself and my wife. Heats up reasonably quickly for that second round of brew. Plus it's a beautiful design... So that's nice. Considering the price tag it definitely aught to be all of these things, and thankfully in this case you get what you paid for!

It's easy to use and it's attractive, which is nice if you're going to leave it sitting out on your counter.

Just what I needed for coffee for two.

Really nice. Haven’t used it long term but it heats up quick and is very light.

Love it

It took a little while for me to 'warm up' to the kettle, but now I really appreciate the design and features. It's great to so easily adjust the temperature for coffee (212 F) or tea (190 F) on the fly. I really don't miss the audible 'it's ready' tone. The styling is compact, appropriate, and attractive. The kettle can sit on small feet without the base if needed. The materials and workmanship are solid and 'good'. Don't expect an heirloom piece.Coolest part: there's an 'easter egg' embedded in the machine with the video game wormy. I discovered it by accident (it is not in the instructions). See if you can find it!!

Great classic design

My son in law had this kettle on his wish list. Seattle Coffee Gear had the best cyber Monday price and I was so happy to support a small business. The kettle is classically designed and looks stunning on the stove top.

Beautiful and Functional Kettle

I've been using this kettle for about 6 months for pour over, aeropress, and blooming my drip pre-brew. Functionality - very nice. The pour control is terrific. The combined temperate and heating controls are very intuitive. The kettle maintains precise temperature setting +/- 1 degree f (actually less when measured with an external thermometer with finer gradation - the heat pad only increments in natural numbers).Aesthetics - this is probably beauty being in the eye of the beholder. I like it and it looks even nicer in person.Value - the only knock that I have on this kettle. I haven't used any of the other goosenecks out there, so I can't compare directly. I liked the story behind this one. There are some parts of the fit and detail finish that don't quite match the price (cap construction feels flimsy, handle edges are a little rough, and the switches seem kind of cheap).
