How the Hario Coffee Dripper V60 Works

The pour-over technique allows you to brew directly into your cup or server. While techniques may vary among users, below is an overview of the pour-over's general process.

  1. Grind your coffee beans and preheat your dripper and vessel
  2. Set the dripper atop or above your vessel
  3. Place the appropriate paper or cloth filter into the Hario Coffee Dripper V60
  4. Add ground coffee depending on your specific taste preferences
  5. Pour the desired amount of preheated (anywhere from 195&deg to 205&deg) water over the coffee grounds, allowing the brewed coffee to drip down into your vessel

Hario V60

Quite frankly, pour over is the way to go for a smooth and delicious cup of coffee. I have used ALL types of coffee methods. Here is the bottom line...if you want great coffee, use the Hario V60. It is the master, the best, the highest quality. All others are posers.

Smoothest Coffee Ever

I've been loving my Hario ceramic pour over dripper for many years. I prefer to use a wood drip stand rather than perching the Hario on top of my coffee mug to keep track of the pour. I purchased the glass dripper to use with the stand to reduce the distance between it and the mug, the ceramic causes some splashing outside of the cup. And let's face it, it just looks cool! :-) Whether glass or ceramic, Hario never disappoints! Smoothest cup of coffee ever. I've also incorporated organic cotton reusable filters to reduce waste. Fabulous combo! Thanks to SCG for the great price & fast shipping!

Hario Coffee Pour Over glass

Love this simple coffee pour over. I have used them for years and accidently broke it when I didn't put it in its place. I was worried about replacing it. Thank you for stocking Hario.

Great Pour Over Brewer!

Love it! Went from the plastic version of this brewer to glass and it just feels more substantial. Great brew every time.

Great dripper

I really love the Hario V60 and have 2 plastic ones. I wanted to buy the glass one for looks and I was really pleased at how sturdy and good quality the glass version was. I now use the glass version almost everyday and I am very pleased.

Easy enough

I bought this to replace my old ceramic one that cracked. Works just as well even though some have commented it's not as nice in comparison because it's not all one piece. I disagree. It's a fine product.

Nice pour-over

The Hario coffee dripper cone works very well and produces an excellent cup of coffee. You’ll want to pre-heat your mug or carafe before pouring, as they recommend.

Quality product, but..

Only "con" is the plastic snap on base. Time will tell how many snap on-offs this base will last. Wish Hario would have cast the unit as a single piece like the ceramic units. On the plus side is if you purchase or build a custom holder this dripper would be a nice easy fit.Pros:Easy To UseCons:

Best I Ever Had

For awhile I used a French Press, but stopped because I was tiring of the thick mouthfeel and messy cleanup. I switched to an Aeropress, but tired of that as well because of the amount of water was always a challenge to guess and I got tired of the uber clean cup it produced. I found the Hario V60 while searching for a new maker and decided on the glass version in white. To me the glass is the best compromise in all the materials Hario offers. The plastic loses heat too fast and the ceramic takes a while to heat up (all while passing water through the filter, mind you). The glass is a happy medium in that by the time you have sufficiently washed out your filter the glass is good and hot. The style of the V60 is great and it remains on my counter with the Buono. I have to say this maker makes the best cup and a good mix between the French Press's thick texture and the Aeropress's clean cup. If poured correctly, a V60 can produce something wonderful and delicious. If you are thinking about buying a V60 do not forget to pick up a Buono kettle and a pack of Hario filters (because V60's just have a big hole in the bottom and regular flat bottom filters will not fit properly). Overall, this coffee maker is stylish, functional, and brews one of the best cups I have ever had.Pros:Great Taste, Easy To Clean, Easy To Use, Quick BrewingCons:

I am looking for the hario v60 pour over - in glass - without handle - just the simple glass v shaped cylinder. I want to buy in quantity. Know where I can find them?

How Much coffee will this produce at one use? Thank you

David L.

One 12 oz. cup of bold strength coffee, even though my Pyrex glass pot reads three cups. P.S. Never boil the water and always use an organic cotton coffee filter.

Andrew M.

This should be sufficient to make between 1-3 cups of coffee depending the amount of coffee you use and how strong you like your coffee. I typically just make between 1-2 cups. If you want to make more coffee I'd recommend the Large size or a Chemex brewer.

Tom D.

I always use it to brew a 16-ounce mug of coffee. But I'm sure you could use it to fill up a bigger container of coffee if you wanted to.

Ron B.

It's small and designed to make one cup of coffee. You're not supposed to just dump a bunch of water in, and I strongly suggest you buy the Hario kettle too so that you can control the flow over the coffee grinds. However, sometimes my wife and I make two cups by putting in two scoops of coffee, that to me is the limit with this dripper. This is a great product and should last a lifetime and I especially like that hot water only touches the glass. Reminds of really good glassware that I used in organic chemistry class. Hario is really good at making glassware.

Customer

While you could brew more, the V60 will brew around 365-385 grams of coffee optimally.

Martha L.

I have the small size unit and it produces enough good tasting coffee for 1 normal size coffee mug.
