The touchscreen entirely replaces the buttons and scroll wheels found on other models, giving the S8 a streamlined appearance over the competition. Not much to say other than this machine is perfect for what I needed. It produces amazing espresso, coffee, and milk drinks. Works smoothly and quietly, and I hope to have it for years and years.
I am not sure how to rate the S8. The coffee is magnificent. With this machine I can finally get a great tasting cup. Plenty of flavor. I love the ease of making any of the many varieties it can make. Now for the not so favorable - If you are used to and expect a machine that never has any problems you probably don?t want this one.You have to empty the grounds after each use. That is no problem. I do that and refill the water reservoir daily. When the prompt to clean pops up, I clean. The ?empty the grounds container? comes up pretty often - even when I have just cleaned it. Haven?t figured that out. The machine is high maintenance but definitely worth it!
I researched for months before finally going with this machine. I love it! Worth every penny. Easy to use. Highly recommend.
I jumped from a Nespresso Lattissima to the Jura S8. The price of entry is steep but the quality, personalization, and flexibility are worth it to me in the long run. I foresee this being part of my daily routine for many years and not being beholden to Nestle’s coffee concepts is freeing. Same for not having to mail off a bag of dirty aluminum once a month. My biggest caveat is the duality of the menu system: there are the onscreen selections and then more in the drink menu. In true teutonic fashion, when you select a drink the machine assumes you’re ready for it. There is barely enough time to make the on-the-fly adjustments of strength, volume, etc. before its whirring away. Unlike the Lattissima, the milk system takes care of itself in the short term flushing itself between the more involved and thorough cleaning. Another plus is that the screen informs you of what its doing all the way along. It is truly a barista in a box.
The Jura S8 is an amazing coffee machine. If you want flexibility, ease of use and great coffee, I highly recommend this machine. You’ll pay a bit more, but you’ll never be wanting for something else.

Re: milk froth cleaning--I understand system requires cleaning after each use. How many ounces of the bottle of the cleaning liquid is needed for each cleaning?
15ml, there are markings on the cap to help with the measuring. The ratio is important - filling the cleaning cup with fresh water to the line will help ensure that it's correct.
I have a 18-19 year old Jura Impressa F9. That machine boasted a "2-step brewing. system. has been a good machine, Now considering the Jura S8. My question is, "will be there be a noticeable improvement in taste and quality of the coffee; the S8-vs F9? I currently brew to : big cup strong on my F9.Would like to hear what new S8 owners experienced when compared to anotherJura model they had.Thank you,
