It was founded in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza and is still administered by the Lavazza family today. That means they’ve had over 100 years to perfect their craft!
For Lavazza Packaging Changes, Lavazza says: "We are constantly reevaluating our portfolio to offer the best assortment, experience, and taste to our customers." - Updates to the design of the packaging is common, if you have any concerns please let us know and we can verify you have the correct item.
For Lavazza's compressed or slightly puffy packaging on whole bean coffee, Lavazza says: "All bags of Lavazza coffee are fitted with a patented one-way valve allowing air and naturally occurring gases to exit the bag, while preventing oxygen from entering. This patented technology preserves freshness and the organoleptic properties of all Lavazza whole bean coffee. Depending on where the bag was placed on the pallet during transport, you may receive either a puffy or compressed bag, however both of the presentations are vacumm sealed."
For pre-ground coffee, Lavazza says: "All bricks of Lavazza coffee are fully sealed when shipped by our warehouse. If you squeeze the brick and no air exits, the seal is fully intact and the brick of coffee is fully sealed and there is no impact on freshness or preservation."

Overall a decent Italian espresso with nice crema and appealing flavor. Definitely a step up from the regular lavazza espresso.
Excellent coffee. I’ve used this coffee for over 10 years!
Very nutty with a hint of chocolate.
I travel to Italy extensively and this coffee is the best. My wife says that my cappuccinos are as good as anything she has tasted in Italy! Love this coffee ... wonderful crema, very smooth, allowing me to try to perfect my cappuccino art (I'm a work in progress!). Using a vacuum canister this coffee will last a long time when I'm gone, that is, won't go stale. Seattle Coffee Gear has always had fresh beans; I've never felt I'm getting a overly dated lot. I won't use anything else. I made espressos for dinner guests a few weeks ago and they raved about them. My wife and I generally stick with cappuccinos.
I began by using locally roasted beans in my super automatic, a DeLonghi Eletta Explore, and only tried these beans to see how they compared. I am delightfully surprised: they make an absolutely delicious espresso drink. I thought they might be stale or dry, but the vacuum packing is very effective. But be warned: You will get a lot of beans in a 2.2 lb bag and will need a good airtight storage system of your own once you open the bag.
Are you kidding me? This is really great coffee! Fit for a King or a Queen! It makes me feel so young.
My favorite of the Lavazza blends so far, and I?ve tried quite a few.
I didn't think it was 5 star
I am a big fan of LavAzza. My standard has been Super Crema. I did notice a slightly better taste from this version.
Great coffee as usual.
I have been buying several of the Lavazza espressos that are highly rated on SCG. This is another really good one. I think it's just as good as Super Crema and Gran Espresso.
Wonderful Italian coffee. Like having breakfast in Rome.
I love Lavazza crema aroma I can’t go with out it test is smooth and delicious, you should have it to believe it. I recommend this coffee to everyone.
Just try today - like it a lot .
Very robust and full body coffee. Love the chocolate-y taste. Perfect for those Lungo shots.
very smooth yet complex balance of coffee flavor. This coffee has been the very best we've ever bought for our espresso. Highly recommend
I was pleasantly surprised! First, I'm not a straight espresso shot guy. I like lattes, mochas, and macchiatos. I don't like dark roasts as to me they taste burnt. SCG had a big coffee sale, so I got on there chat line and asked about a few brands in the medium roast category and that I prefer chocolatey, nutty, and caramel notes. He got back to me a minute later and described Lavazza Crema E Aroma as the best choice of the ones I were considering. The overall flavor was pretty amazing considering it came from the east coast and not a local roaster. We have a local roaster that gets 100% extra fancy Kona beans and even though it's $35 lb. it's definitely a treat you won't forget. The Lavazza pulled beautifully through my Rancilio Sylvia, (Thank you SCG!) making a thick rich crema. I would definately buy Lavazza again even if it wasn't on sale!!!
Great service. Delicious coffee.
The taste is good. Shipping time was fast.
Tried these beans on the recommendation of the Breville Oracle salesperson and I must say, she was right. This is an excellent bean to go with the machine. My wife and I enjoy it so much.
Best coffee for espresso, worth the wait of having this shipped!
Received Velton's Bonsai Blend espresso beans as a free gift when I purchased my Saeco Intelia espresso machine, and we love the coffee. My son could tell the difference right away. I will purchase the coffee. Perfect blend, perfect taste, just right.
I've been drinking coffee since graduating from high school. 1 or 2 cups a day, either an espresso or cappuccino size cups. Being from Europe, Lavazza is my favorite brand, although I've tried many others. I switch between the Super Crema, Grand Espresso, and Crema e Aroma. I have a DeLonghi Espresso Machine that uses whole beans and has 5 settings for the coffee output: extra strong, strong, regular, mild and extra mild. The Crema e Aroma is an excellent quality coffee beans, and the cup of coffee is exactly what it says: creamy and fragrant. If you have never had coffee before, this is a good one to start with. I have offered Crema e Aroma coffee to guests who liked it black and told me that when the coffee has such a good quality like that, you can easily drink it straight. People who have written a negative review for this brand must have prepared it poorly as there is not even one person of my circle who has ever disliked it. The price is unbeatable, as I used to buy it from an Italian grocer for $32 a bag (What a big difference, right?!) and the delivery was prompt. I used to order Lavazza from another vendor but this is the lowest ever price I've found. Thank you for your service!
This coffee is a blend of 70% robusta & only 30% of arabica. I tossed it to the garbage can as soon as I saw it! You don't respect yourself and don't like the real coffee if you consume robusta beans! My fault I didn't research enough about this particular blend before buying it.
but I REALLY like the Rossa! I'm making my way through the Lavazzas in my YouBrew (too busy for press or espresso lately), starting with this and the Rossa. As drip coffee, the CeA smells incredible, and it tastes great as well, with a full flavor (even with cream and sugar) that is head and shoulders better than most of the coffee I've ever had. However, I think the Rossa does a better job following through with the depth and strength of flavor. If you spend more time with your nose in the cup enjoying the aroma than you actually do sipping your coffee, this may be the perfect bean for you.
Wonderful crema, excellent price and more important fast and excellent shipping and customer service.
This was my first time ever buying Lavazza coffee. Price was good in my eyes, and coffee seamed pretty consistent. I would buy this again. Only made coffee with this - no espresso this time.
After spending time in Europe enjoying espresso, I needed to upgrade my coffee at home. I found Seattle Coffee Gear online and headed there from NE Tacoma the day after my return from Germany. I was ready to spend some serious money. To my surprise, I was guided to the best coffee system for me at a quarter of the price I expected to pay. Then, there was the coffee. Since my purchase, I have tried several kinds. This remains my favorite by far!
A little strong or robust drunk alone, but excellent flavor with a little milk. i would like to know where the Italians get their beans though.
Good flavor + good crema + good price = great value.I'm about halfway through my first kilo and will be placing my replacement order (same product) tomorrow.
I started using this because SCG can no longer get the Lavazza Gold Selection. This is a really good coffee. Great flavor and aroma. I do wish it was a bit heavier on the Arabica but overall it's a good coffee for either iced for hot lattes.
