So smooth. Great light flavor. Great for my Jura z10! This is my new favorite from lavazza
There are no harsh acidic tastes nor over-roasted flavors in this coffee. It's smooth but robust enough to suit those who prefer their coffee without milk.
Decided to try another Lavazza whole bean. Reminds me of Italy. I use it in my superautomatic. I tried changing the settings on my Lattego. My suggestion is don't mess with the settings if you want a perfect cappuccino with this espresso. The factory setting gave me the best drink.
Love it! Very good taste.
Excellent service and delivery. Thank you SCG!
We've had a super-automatic machine for over 6 years. It originally came with samples of several high quality beans to try including Lavazza Gold Selection. We tried them all, in addition to a couple from our local coffee roaster. In the end, however, nothing came close to Lavazza Gold Selection for us. No matter how strong we made it, it was never bitter. It also has a slight chocolaty note to the flavor profile. We go through approximately 2 cases (6 - 2.2lb bags each case) per year and aren't interested in trying anything else.
Works the best of any bean in the Saeco Espresso machine
I bought this due to the good reviews. I bought a new automatic espresso machine and was shopping for good beans to use with it. I have tried Starbucks from Costco and this gold selection that I just bought from SCG. I think this bean is totally lake of the coffee aroma.. When I brew my Starbucks, the whole house smells coffee, but this one is not. I am not sure it's because of the freshness of the coffee or not. My bag says expires Aug, 2013.. But I am very disappointed. I still have other two bags of different coffee that I purchased together, hope I can find a good one to stick with. Otherwise I might just go back to Costco.
I prefer a dark roast when it comes to my espressos. I spent a few years as a barista so I have savored a number of coffee beans. Although Illy Dark Roast Espresso is acceptable I find the Lavazza Gold Selection has a nice chocolate note that and a richness to it.This is the second time I have had the Gold Selection, using the Illy in between because it is locally accessible. This time, I could definitely taste the difference between the two coffee beans and in my mind, the Lavazza Gold Selection is the most enjoyable espresso from my Rancilio Silvia V.3 with PID and Rancilio Rocky grinder.
Great creama and tastePros:Great TasteCons:None
This is one of the coffee bean greats available at SCGPros:Great TasteCons:
A pleasant breakfast,mid day,or dinner coffee.Pros:Great Taste, SmoothCons:
It's a close tie for top coffee for us... between Super Crema and Gold. But either one is just great actually.Pros:Great TasteCons:
I echo the sentiments of the other reveiwers. Started out with Starbucks and Illy with my Incanto fully automatic, but, wasn't enamored. My husband was ready to go back to our drip coffeemaker until we discovered Lavazza. After experimenting with several varieties, settled on the Gold. We stray once in a while and always come back to the Gold. It's smooth, somewhat chocolaty which makes a great drink plain or with milk. We truly enjoy!Pros:SmoothCons:
Everyone votes this as top pick at office. A smooth espresso with a sweet note to it.Pros:Smooth, Great TasteCons:
This is what we use in our Jura espresso machine. Since I switched to Lavazza, I've stopped buying other coffee brands. It's smooth and has a great taste.Pros:Great TasteCons:
I've traded in my starbucks and other typical iconic coffees for this coffee. It is great!! It's smooth, tasty and bold. Its some of the best coffee I've ever had.Pros:Great TasteCons:
I find that Lavzza Gold is consistently the same. It has a gentle but robust flavor that is easy on the tongue. It is smooth and never acrid as some blends can be. It is thanks to Seattle Gear an affordable bit of luxury that reminds me of my many trips to Italy.Pros:Great TasteCons:
It wasn't until I started traveling to Italy that I learned what a good cup of coffee was. Reproducing that at home wasn't easy. It took good coffee, like Lavazza Gold Selection, a good machine (I use a Seaco Incanto Deluxe), and the correct coffee:water ratio. For me is 9-10gms coffee to 1 oz water. A dopio in a Bodum 3oz glass makes my day. Also great 50:50 Gold Selection with DEK to reduce caffeine (my daytime blend). Life is good with Lavazza, at home or in Italy. IMHO Lavazza rules!Pros:Great TasteCons:None
I'm noticing that Gold Selection is becoming difficult to find. Is this product being discontinued, or produced in lower quantities?
Unfortunately, we will not be getting the Gold blend back in stock. Comparable, I might suggest the Lavazza Gran Crema, or the Qualita Oro, both of which are nice and strong without being overpowering. Hope this helps in your quest!
What are the best brew settings for this? Timing, Temperature, Dose, etc
I bought this because the Super Crema was not available....it was excellent but not AS smooth as the Super Crema
I only use it in my espresso machine.there are no brew settings.
