Overview
Lavazza Gran Espresso blend is made with Arabica beans from Central and South America, combined with African and Indonesian Robustas. Consistent cup after cup, Lavazza Gran Espresso is strong... but not to be confused with dark and oily, this is light and flavorful.
Many tasters have commented on the lack of bitter aftertaste and the easy crema production. It is perfect for creating milk-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, or cafe macchiatos. This is a clear winner from Lavazza for taste, versatility and consistent results even when brewed from different espresso machines.

Great starter bean for Breville Barista Express BES870XL/A. I currently weigh out 14-15g for each double shot pull and have the grind setting on 10 (grind size) and noon position (grind amount). The preset grind dispense is almost perfect for the amount of beans but I have to do an extra manual click to get the rest of the beans out of the grinder. I include this info for anyone else who has found it a challenge to dial in a bean and wished there was a general place to start depending on your machine! The flavor is great once you get it dialed in! Smooth, balanced and medium strength.
Perfect espresso blend for both my cappuccinos every am and a tall cold brew in the afternoon. Love the tones of dark chocolate, spicy pepper and a slight sweetness. It is a robusta/arabica blend so it seems to be more acidic. If you have a sensitive stomach you may have to adjust your machine's intensity setting. Highly recommendw
Average. A bit old, shows a mfg date of July 2023. Wouldn't call it stale but wouldn't call it fresh. I understand this is a commercial coffee brand so to be expected on some level. Good for what it is.
I enjoyed this bean very much did not leave. A weird aftertaste in my mouth was not bitter at all we'll buy it again.
It is the coffee I drink, and I only drink it black
Best decaf anywhere. Period.
Great tasting Italian coffee!
I've been trying a lot of different coffees. This one is much "milder" than many. It's lighter, smoother, easy to like but without a big coffee intensity. In my family, it's preferred by everyone but me.
Smooth and delicious morning coffee (drip)
Great, arrived promptly
This bean is great. It has a nice flavor and develops a nice crema.
Come over from Espressozone. Thank you for the same great service. Just as easy to order and get good coffee beans.
Very nice coffee for the super automatics. We tried this because we like Lavazza Super Crema and were equally impressed. The flavors are there without any unnecessary bitterness and acid is well balanced.
Just a little too flat for an espresso. Family OK with it for milk drinks.
My wife & I strongly prefer Super Crema.
Great coffee to use with my super automatic coffee machine. I drink my coffee black or in latte asa treat. This is good for both.
Takes me back to all the beautiful coffee we had in Spain.
Good coffees. Good price.
I've tried other, more expensive espressos, but this remains my absolute favorite. Dark, rich, with a great crema. I also use it for regular coffee. Highly recommended.
I threw it out ! Will try in another time ? It could of been the Breville? But trash loved it .
Good coffee but I enjoy the Lavazza Crema a little more.
I’ve been drinking Lavazza coffee for some time. Always a great brew.
Full bodied with enjoyable taste profile. Large bag ( 2.2 lb) and low price make this a great value.
I was really surprised by the how much I truly love this coffee.
LavAzza is my favorite expresso bean for the machine. It's rare to find one I don't like!
very mellow and yet full coffee flavor
This is a great coffee, on its own. However I felt it wasn't -- as was written in the tasting notes-- strong, at all. I read the tasting notes for this, and was expecting "light and flavorful" but wasn't expecting it to fade away in milk-based drinks, which I feel it did. The milk was coffee-flavored, (instead of coffee-forward taste) even when I used a lesser amount of it (vs. my normal proportion.)I will be going back to the Lavazza Top Class after the Gran Espresso is done, as my preferred morning drink is a latte, and Gran Espresso definitely holds its own presence very well.
great coffee -- thanks
Beans are dry so they work great in my Saeco Intellia machines. Love the rich flavor.
Molto molto molto bene !!
This is one of the best of Lavazza. It is strong with excellent flavor and and addictive after taste. It will make a great latte or cappuccino.
My wife and I have been hooked on our superautomatic for quite a while and this coffee really does it justice! No bitterness or acidic aftertaste, but bold and flavorful with a smooth finish. Makes a wonderful cappuccino! This and two other Lavazza espresso beans are on our monthly subscription list!
If you like strong, fragrant espresso with thick crema, you can't do much better. Also important, it's not oily which is a killer for burr grinders. Terrific value.
