Overview

Lavazza Qualita Rossa Espresso is a full bodied espresso. The African Robusta coffee beans give it body and a chocolate aroma, while the natural Arabica from the Brazilian highlands contribute body and a mild aroma. Lavazza roasting brings it all together to create a velvety sensation for your palette. It is the perfect blend for breakfast because it goes well with milk-based drinks and is excellent with biscotti or other bakery goodies.

Whether you brew your espresso shots short or long, Lavazza Espresso Bar's chocolate flavor and smooth body shine through in an excellent cup.

Welcome to Seattle Coffee Gear’s great selection of Lavazza coffee, where you can browse all your favorite blends by this quintessentially Italian coffee roaster. You probably instantly recognize Lavazza, since it’s one of the world’s biggest and most beloved coffee roasters. But did you know that Lavazza is also one of the oldest coffee roasters, too? It was founded in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza and is still administered by the Lavazza family today. That means they’ve had over 100 years to perfect their craft!

For Lavazza Packaging Changes, Lavazza says: "We are constantly reevaluating our portfolio to offer the best assortment, experience, and taste to our customers." - Updates to the design of the packaging is common, if you have any concerns please let us know and we can verify you have the correct item.

For Lavazza's compressed or slightly puffy packaging on whole bean coffee, Lavazza says: "All bags of Lavazza coffee are fitted with a patented one-way valve allowing air and naturally occurring gases to exit the bag, while preventing oxygen from entering. This patented technology preserves freshness and the organoleptic properties of all Lavazza whole bean coffee. Depending on where the bag was placed on the pallet during transport, you may receive either a puffy or compressed bag, however both of the presentations are vacumm sealed."

For pre-ground coffee, Lavazza says: "All bricks of Lavazza coffee are fully sealed when shipped by our warehouse. If you squeeze the brick and no air exits, the seal is fully intact and the brick of coffee is fully sealed and there is no impact on freshness or preservation."

The best coffee

My sister brought me back some of this coffee from her trip to Italy this summer and I had never tasted coffee so smooth and pleasant before. I quickly went online to see if I could purchase more in the United States and found your shop. I ordered two packages and it came quickly and safely. I am now into my second package and started to panic about running out so I just ordered six more packages of this wonderful coffee. I'll give a few of them as gifts to people I know will love it too and will enjoy the rest.

Found it on Santorini 21 years ago.

Absolutely the best for robust coffee. We brew ours in a large Chemex Beaker. Our mix is 5 scoops of Rossa and 7 scoops of Folger decaf.

As I remembered, best coffee I've ever had.

I lived and worked in Italy for 17 years and that's where I got addicted. Nothing like brewing a real cup of coffee. The price is acceptable but I would suggest you consider shipping USPS. As it turns out I think it took as long or longer to use FedEx ground then if you would have used USPS ground. For sure it cost more via FedEx. Think on it.Jim

Lavazza Coffee via Seattle

We came across this coffee at my dad's home. My brother had bought him a few bags but he never used them. Being avid coffee fans we asked for a bag and the rest is history. We've been drinking it daily ever since. We add a pinch of cinnamon to give it a subtle twist.Obviously, we tried many vendors, at least five with no exaggeration and Seattle Coffeegear has been the overall best for price and delivery. least. And the expiration date on our last order is in 2020! That's a first as well....hope this helps

Makes a great cup of cappuchino

My husband's family is from Italy and I became quite spoiled to Italian coffee. This coffee is full-bodied and does not have any bitter taste at all.

Best when mixed with steamed milk!

This is my one of my favorites for mochas and lattes. The espresso flavor really comes through. For me it shines best in this capacity.

AMAZING!

I looked far and wide for a great coffee to satisfy my unique taste palate. This coffee not only tantalized my taste buds, but it created such a euphoric feeling in my body that lasted longer than any other coffee I have had. Amazing! This really helped me kick my cocaine addiction, but now I'm worried I won't be able to stop drinking this :'D Well, better than Coke I guess right!?

Perfect cup

Like most I've tried many commercial grinds, both local and international. I always find my self coming back to it. If I'm traveling I take my small 3cup french press and a fresh pack of Cafe Rossa. For it's price it's not only the best value, but would be the best at 5x the price. ** For an extra treat, add a heaping tablespoon of the fresh grounds to your favourite chocolate chip cookie batter along with a few grains of sea salt - best cookie hack ever.

Great Crema and great taste

I have tried lots of other dark roasted beans but I like this better. It's about a medium roast and makes delicious espresso or regular coffee(americano). Very well balanced beans not acidy and no horrible after taste. I will keep buying this because it's the best.

Bitter on bitter

Worst ground coffee I've ever had. Very bitter and flavourless. If you want good coffee avoid this.

best espresso ground out there

My husband is an absolute coffee snob. He never drinks filter coffee, which I love. I take him an espresso every morning when I wake him up... and he can tell in the dark if it has a decent crema. With Lavassa, not only does it always produce a lovely thick and colorful crema but the flavor is wonderful. I prefer lattes and I find that the Lavassa tastes best. We have tried plenty of other espresso coffees... this one is tops.

Simply the best!

I have only been drinking Lavazza Rossa coffee for the past few months (since I purchased my super automatic) but it is fantastic coffee! It's the only coffee that I drink now and it seems to have blown all of the others out of the water! Even some locally roasted beans do not compare to the taste of these! Most coffees seem to be roasted far too dark for my personal taste but these are a perfect medium blend!

Smooth, less acid

I drank this coffee in Italy and was thrilled to find it available here. It is not the most robust blend but doesn't stay with you, if you get my drift. That means you can have that second cup later and all you get is the boost and taste you need. It may be a little commercial for some gourmet drinkers and certainly isn't for anyone who enjoys Starbucks Burnt Brew.

Good choice!

Nice cup of cappucino made with Saeco Aroma. Will use this as my every day go to espresso. Website video helped me make my decision.

Smooth, aromatic and flavorful!

I received my Rossa and was excited to try my first Lavazza coffee. I pulled out the Aeropress and made some up, diluted it down a bit with some half & half and took my first sip. How sweet it was! So smooth and flavorful with NO hint of bitterness! I immediately detected almond and a slight hint of chocolate. All I could say was YUM and continued to sip this wonderful coffee! Later I tried some in my Moka pot, but found that it lost those flavors I so enjoyed using the AP. Next, I will try using a French press (caffine overdose here I come, lol). So, I'm happy to report that, for a pre-ground coffee, this stuff is amazing. Now I'm curious if the whole beans are even better or are the same.

Simply the Best Espresso for a Moka Pot

This is the most popular coffee in Italy for good reason. It makes the best espresso with a good old fashioned Bialetti 6-cup Moka Pot. I was turned on to the Cafe Rosa by my daughter when she was living in Rome. Now I swear by it!Pros:Cons:

Which grind size is Lavazza Rosa?

Customer

Fine

Gregory L.P.

I would say pretty fine-not powder as for Turkish coffee

Karyn

Fine sized espresso ground for Italian moka coffee makers or espresso machines.

Steve F.E.

This coffee is considered as medium by their standards, but I would rate it as Medium-Fine. It’s ground up pretty good with little room for for more...

RZ

I have no idea. Fairly fine I guess.

Customer

Using this product in the moka machine and also with any other espresso's for many years. It's according my taste. Very simple : try it and decide

I believe it is fine grind like expresso grind

With all the conversation about mold in the beans from certain countries and the fact that the US and Canada are not that strict, what assurances can you make for these beans? thank you.thank you.

Steve F.E.

Check the expiration dates. A few of my bags were from March 2019 which is right around the corner. My recent order from Seattle Coffee Gear has dates as late as 2020. So, that's a good thing. Also, once open we keep it in the refrigerator as the coolness seems to help with decay and loss of quality, we hope...

Ken E.

I have been drinking 4 different roasts obtained locally and all over the U.S. online. No problems yet.

Francesco C.

I never have any bad experience whit lavazza,i enjoy drink espresso coffee every day and lavazza is the only coffee I use.

Jason B.

The beans aren't from the United States or Canada. Also, the roasting and packaging is completed in Italy that meet European standards. Lavazza is the most popular coffee in Italy and I personally have been drinking it exclusively for 5 years. The quality is superb and I think the taste is unbeatable. Hope that helps. -JB

Customer

I'm italian and I have used this coffee for long time, when I was in Italy and now in USA.I never experienced the mold problem and it was never reported in Italy in 40 years. Lavazza is a quality coffee and made with high standard. Italians are very picky when it is time for a cup of coffee. Hope it helps.
