Welcome to Seattle Coffee Gear’s great selection of Lavazza coffee, where you can browse all your favorite blends by this quintessentially Italian coffee roaster. You probably instantly recognize Lavazza, since it’s one of the world’s biggest and most beloved coffee roasters. But did you know that Lavazza is also one of the oldest coffee roasters, too? It was founded in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza and is still administered by the Lavazza family today. That means they’ve had over 100 years to perfect their craft!

For Lavazza Packaging Changes, Lavazza says: "We are constantly reevaluating our portfolio to offer the best assortment, experience, and taste to our customers." - Updates to the design of the packaging is common, if you have any concerns please let us know and we can verify you have the correct item.

For Lavazza's compressed or slightly puffy packaging on whole bean coffee, Lavazza says: "All bags of Lavazza coffee are fitted with a patented one-way valve allowing air and naturally occurring gases to exit the bag, while preventing oxygen from entering. This patented technology preserves freshness and the organoleptic properties of all Lavazza whole bean coffee. Depending on where the bag was placed on the pallet during transport, you may receive either a puffy or compressed bag, however both of the presentations are vacumm sealed."

For pre-ground coffee, Lavazza says: "All bricks of Lavazza coffee are fully sealed when shipped by our warehouse. If you squeeze the brick and no air exits, the seal is fully intact and the brick of coffee is fully sealed and there is no impact on freshness or preservation."

Smooth

This version of the Lavazza is flavorful and very smooth. I doesn't have quite as much body as a dark roast, but but I am willing to trade that for the convenience of my superautomatic machine.

Outstanding coffee from an outstanding bean

We have a new Saeco Xlsis coffee machine and have searched for a good coffee bean. After trying about ten different coffee beans, we found that Lavazza Top Class Espresso is the perfect coffee bean for this machine. The beans are great for a morning cup of coffee, for cappuccino, for espresso. The flavor is excellent and the price is good. I highly recommend this coffee.

Solid Espresso bean.

Good solid espresso. Easy to drink, great to mix, holds its character and is smooth, not bitter or acidic, with hints of chocolate. My Saeco likes it too!

Nice addition to a morning

Overall, it has a good flavor with a nice crema. Needs to be a fine grain for a Moka, but once the pack and heat are key, the aroma us enticing. I use Super Crema beans and this is a definite reorder.

Robusta beans!

I have a nickname for this particular blend "Italian crack" as the Robusta beans provide the kick to this excellent blend.

Great coffee

It's my first time writing a coffee review, I am an espresso freak and a few years ago my wife and I tried Lavazza for the first time on a cruise... what a pleasure. In the quest to find the best experience a few months back we bought a Breville Barista Express and I order this coffee and it tastes great, the only down side I keep making espresso shots and cappuccinos so I'm runing out to soon... lol

Very smooth tasting

Purchased a cappuccino from X cafe not expecting anything special. The coffee tasted a lot smoother and no bitterness compared to other coffees. Asked the barista what beans they were using. I have found the right coffee bean for me.

I live by this coffee...

I have tried many of the Lavazza coffees in my Jura-Capresso espresso maker, and this is, by far, my wife and my personal favorite! We drink it every day, and I can't say enough about it. This is a must try, in my humble opinion...Pros:Cons:

We recently purchased a Jura Ena 8 super automatic machine and love it. Initially we tried Lavazza Super Crema beans and although we enjoyed the taste we would like to test a bolder coffee. Can we safely use the Lavazza “Top Class” expresso beans in our machine or are they too oily to use (that is, could they affect the grinder and causother problems)? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I love Top Class. It’s been my go to blend for over three years now, and it’s always good to the very last bean in the bag. My question is: Is there any decaffeinated espresso blend that has a similar flavor profile to Top Class? I’ve tried Dek, but I prefer it more in after dinner dessert cappuccino than in my morning and afternoon lattes. Thanks!

is these coffee beans organically produced?

Michele B.

No, but LaVazza's plants comply with environmental standards. You can read more about their production here: http://www.lavazza.com/en/lavazza-world/company/production_factory/

is this the best lavazza coffee type(top class) for a super automatic and if not what would you prefer? Asking because I hear lavazza is the best brand for a drier bean.

Michael V.

Haseeb. Any Lavazza works great in super automatic machines ( I have a Saeco Vienna). Their beans are dry and make delicious coffee! Dark roast beans are very oily, and do not work nearly as well .Mike

Customer

I like this one. We are also using Lavazza super crema.

Brookdale G.C.

This is consistently a great bean for my super automatic. The beans are drier yet full of flavor. I use all the LaVazza beans, and really enjoy all of them. The drier beans keep the machine running cleaner longer! Other oily beans can gum up the works, never a problem with LaVazza.

Haseeb A.

Thank you all for ur comments. I was just looking for the best coffee (espresso) for my seaco super automatic I purchased through you guys and heard lavazza was the best. I usually buy starbucks but I hear its too oily and not good in super automatics. Thanks again for all the responses!!

Vasile H.

The lavazza top class works great in my Saeco super auto machine. When it comes down to taste and flavor, that is more of a personal preference depending on what you like. Personally I really like the Lavazza Rosa, but I have tried all of the Lavazza beans and they all are great, it just depends if you like a more bold flavor the top class works good, if you like more of a medium light flavor go with the Lavazza Super Crema or the Rosa

karl k.

Yes it is very good and does not clog up your machine like many of the oily beans do. Delicious taste also.

Maria K.

I definitely agree with the driest bean. It has good flavor. Good on the machine.

Samir L.

I use it on a Rancilio machine and it's great, compared with other brands ( Starbucks, and others ..) I prefer Lavazza since it's not oily and works fine with my Rancillo Grinder. The one I use alot is the supercrema Lavazza.I have no idea if this coffee been is the best for your super automatic machine but will not hurt to try it.

James V.

Any of the Lavazza whole bean coffees work in our super automatic machines. We use Top Class, Super Crema, and occasionally the Grand Espresso and Dek. Never a problem, always a great espresso.
