Overview

The old is new with the Open Box LELIT Bianca Espresso Machine. A classically styled machine that combines flow control needle valve with the innovative LELIT Control Center, the Bianca is perfect for the home barista pursuing the purest espresso flavors. Dual boilers for temperature precision and the stability of the E61 style brew group are the core of this machine. Those features are already formidable, but the flow control paddle and needle valve let you take extraction to the next level. Whether you're looking for long, slow pre-infusions; lever style espresso shots; or even mimicking a pour over—the LELIT Bianca can handle it. The LELIT Control Center, or LCC, adds repeatable programmable shot parameters that add to your espresso greatness when paired with flow control or on its own. Enable low pressure pre-infusion, set dwell time, and a late extraction pressure reduction to pull repeatable profiled shots using just the brew lever. Latte creation is a breeze thanks to the dedicated steam boiler with the perfect amount of power to create finely textured milk. The Open Box LELIT Bianca is truly and endgame espresso machine.

Bianca 3 was the best decision I made all year

Love it, had been making espresso at home on an older heat exchanger that was great but the Bianca 3 and the really good baskets that it came with has really upped the tastes of the espresso and I'm just now starting to use the flow control paddle and programmable preinfusion and low pressure which has yielded some really good taste profiles. Having fun and better espresso too!

Ok, so my rating is not against the Lelit. I have ine and decided to buy another for a seperate location. I decided to get he open box and recieved it with a pretty bad dent in the tank. Part of the lire is the aesthetics of the machine. I contacted Seatlle Coffee gear and they said that minor dings and or scratjces are expected. Unfortunately, this was not minor in my opinion and they did not want to replace. It was also missing the carbon filter, a rubber pad that minimizes chatter when machine is running and lastly, was missing the microfiber towel from lelit which i love. So the machine is 5 stars but i woold not buy from seattle coffe gear. Shame in them.

I am excited to wake up in the morning knowing a great drink is waiting to be made with this machine

Upgrading from 3 years with a Breville Bambino, with experience using commercial la marzocco machines as a former barista- I've had my Bianca for about a month now and it works perfectly. In great, like new condition aside from open packaging of accessories, and dried espresso on the drip tray as a sign of previous light use. No dings or bumps on exterior, or signs of use that couldn't be solved with a wipe down.Be aware of the description note which mentions some non-essential items could be missing from the box due to it being an open-box product: It won't list if any accessories are missing before you buy- be sure to level expectations beforehand, so you aren't upset if something isn't there.Mine came with all of the big accessories (portafilters, baskets, tamp, steam nozzle tips). Based on the list of items that come in a new Bianca the only missing items from mine were the microfiber towel, water softener filter insert, cleaning set, and pH test strips. Oddly enough, I received an extra wooden brush with fine bristles in addition to the standard plastic brush. Upon research this wooden brush appears to be a part of a separate Lelit knock-box kit, which I was more than happy to have in lieu of the missing items. Overall I was happy to go without the missing items considering the near 25% discount. As far as the machine itself- coming from a much less customizable machine it did take some time to program / dial in settings to my preference with some video guides, and troubleshoot some machine errors. I was able to manage on my own, but I definitely recommend bringing a second person and some towels for cushion to help move and set things up, especially if you need to access the bottom of the machine to adjust the default pressure, change the water line/water tank direction, etc. With that said, one of the great things about this machine is the ability to customize. Programming is easy once you understand what the program pages correspond to, and it is very easy to turn the screw at the bottom of the machine to change the default pressure (recommend going down to 9-9.5 bars). With limited counter space it's also great that you can change the orientation of the water tank to better suit your space. The machine also came with a pump for a direct waterline connection if you have that. If you're upgrading from something like a Bambino be prepared to grind finer than you have in your life- seriously. I finally understand all of the advice online advising people to grind finer while troubleshooting. I am not exaggerating when I say I am probably grinding my espresso 5x finer than I did on my budget machine- I initially tried pulling shots using my baseline grind size from my Bambino, assuming the grind size would be similar, and massively failing in my results. My grinder (eureka mignon notte) has a stepless wheel, and it took multiple 360 revolutions to get it as fine as it needed. I was grinding so much finer than what my previous machine needed that I actually started to question if there was actually such a thing as grinding too fine on this machine, i'm still not sure that there is.The worst shot I've pulled on this machine while dialing in with the cheapest beans I could find at Trader Joes far outshines the few thousand shots I've pulled on my Bambino. The mediocre shots are just as good as what I would find at many of my neighborhood cafes in Seattle. Great steam power and texture, love the preheating element atop the machine that keeps mugs warm. Still don't really understand the standby mode, but I'll figure that one out eventually. Absolutely worth the price so far with the open box deal. I'm a night owl, but I feel a new sense of excitement to wake up in the morning knowing another great drink is waiting to be made on this machine.
