Melitta
Legendary German-based coffee filter brand Melitta was founded in 1908 by a housewife named Melitta Bentz in Dresden, Germany. Melitta is credited with inventing the first coffee filter in 1908. This innovative filter design allowed for a larger filtration area, which meant improved extraction. From there, Melitta further improved upon the cone filter and still makes enhancements to it today. Seattle Coffee Gear is proud to offer cone and basket filters from Melitta.

Not what it says it is

Claims to be #4 coffee cone. It is actually a #2 sized cone. Claimed to ship with #4 coffee filters, actually shipped with no coffee filters.

Excellent updated design

I was initially looking for the Melitta Classic Pour-Over, the solid black plastic cone which costs $5-$10. I had a bit of sticker shock upon finding the Tritan model. But upon arrival it is worth every penny. The Tritan is a thick, glass-like plastic. It is thicker and heavier than the Hario V60. I would not hesitate to use this in an office kitchen or vacation rental where durability is needed. It also happens to look great! And the benefit of being a molded Tritan plastic (over ceramic) is that the pour spout is super precise. Melitta's designs are a bit slept on despite being the original, but they are actually the most functional. The overall size is medium, somewhere between a Melitta #4 or #2 paper filter size (you can use either).

Simply Love it!!! I use it Monday thru Friday at work and it is just the best little coffee maker I've every used outside of my house. So super glad that I purchased it.

The whole at the bottom is a tad bit larger than another one I had. The water runs through faster than I would like, as I like stronger coffee.

Love this pourover! Wish I had bought it sooner. It's my third, first was plastic, second was ceramic, this is the best for weight and easy to see coffee in my mug. Thanks SCG.

It works fine. The problem is, the bottom ring is too large, it doesn’t sit on my Hydroflask. You have to decant into a coffee cup first.

Is this a large dripper, sized for #4 Melitta filters, or is it a small dripper, sized for #2 Melitta filters?

is this a one cup?

Patrick C.

Hello! You can brew one cup with this dripper for sure! Pour over Drippers give you direct control over how much coffee you want based on how much grounds you use, so you can brew as much as a small carafe for 2-3 people or as little as a small cup for yourself.
