Was about to order a kettle that costs close to double the price of the OXO. I watched a few reviews and really liked how quickly it heated due to being 1500W. We own numerous OXO items so I figured we'd take a chance since we really like the brand. By the time you grind the coffee its heated and waiting! It's also extremely accurate which was the biggest concern I had. Highly recommended!

An excellent kettle. You would have to be painfully critical to find fault with it. Accurate temps, all steel, fast boil, gorgeous pour, ergonomic. Buy it.

The OXO gooseneck kettle has worked very well for me so far. It is easy to set water temperature to the degree chosen for pour-over coffee or the particular tea to be brewed. I have checked water temperatures after it gets to the set temperature. It has always measured within a degree with a Thermapen. Consistent temperatures have helped me brew more consistently good coffee with the Chemex, and teas have also been better. The OXO heats water quickly and brings any added water up to temp quickly. The OXO’s gooseneck spout helps you pour hot water where you want it. It is a nice feature.

I've read or seen many positive reviews of this, including Gail's. The only mediocre one I read claims the temperature is inaccurate, without mentioning either the degree of inaccuracy or the testing method. I used a Fisher Scientific glass/mercury thermometer. When the bulb was suspended in the liquid and not touching the bottom of the pot, it was spot on at 96C, the brewing temperature that I use. Their sample may have been different, of courseThe mediocre review also claimed it was not a good value at 100 bucks. As far as I'm concerned, when a product like this checks all the right boxes in terms of functionality it's worth a little extra. For example, it maintains the set temperature for 30 seconds when you pick it up and pour. Others, apparently (though I haven't used them) require resitting each time, which makes no sense. It feels just right in the hand, you can pour from the spout in a slow controlled manner and wash all the grounds from the sides of the filter. The built-in timer can help you aim for a consistent bloom time and brew time. If you need more consistency than that you should use an automatic brewer.The rotary encoder and display are very intuitive. You can probably read the instructions once then file them away. I did once forget, when wanting to change between F and C, once you get to the menu item you have to turn the dial. It took me a few seconds of fiddling to rediscover this, and it's not as if it's something most people would want to do very often.Most weekdays I would rely on my Technivorm KBT, and save a leisurely pour-over Chemex brew for the weekend. In these locked down work at home days I am pour-over brewing almost every day, and the coffee tastes terrific every time. I will be loathe to go back. If this passes the test of time--preferably for the rest of mine--I will be perfectly happy.

This oxo gooseneck electric kettle is amazing! This thing heats up super fast so theirs less waiting in the morning for my pour over coffee. The display is very clear and intuitive -- love how it counts the temperature and the timer! It's very well designed with a comfortable rubber handle and rubber lid. If your looking for a kettle for pour over coffee or tea, put this one on your list!

I've had this Kettle for a year and a half now, and just around the one year mark, the temperature read out has started to become inaccurate. As the kettle is heating up, the temperature will bounce around in increments of around 20 until it reaches the set temp. For example; the temperature will bounce from 120 to 140, and then back down to 130. This continues until it reaches the set temp. Other the temperature read out problem, this kettle has been great and it served me well for one year.

I have been using the OXO kettle for about 6 months. I am still amazed at how quickly and accurate the kettle is. I have used the Bonavita Variable Temp kettles which I also liked, but the OXO heats up in about a third of the time.

This kettle looks great and works great. The pour is easily controlled. Haven't had any issues.

After about 10 years, I thought I'd upgrade from the hot water kettle I got for my freshman dorm room. This kettle is incredibly fast - it heats 1L of water to 200F in about the time it takes to measure and grind my beans! This is my first gooseneck so I don't have a comparison, but I really like the controlled pour. I can easily regulate the flow, down to a dribble, to ensure the pourover is appropriately saturated while brewing. After about 3 months of regular use, I would recommend this kettle for meticulous coffee brewers that like control and customization. My only complaint is capacity. I used to use my kettle to heat water for cooking, but this gooseneck is a unitasker. For instances when flow and temperature control aren't necessary, I kept my old kettle as a backup with it's larger 1.7L capacity and utility.

This is one of the best kettles I have seen. It heats up water very quickly and has several temperature settings to choose from. It is worth the price. Excellent product!

The kettle has stood up flawlessly and performed exactly as I needed it to for a couple of years so far. I am pleased with my purchase every time i use it.

This kettle is much nicer than I expected. It is so nice looking we put it out so people can see it. Its easy to use and heats up water quickly. I really like its ability to heat to specific temperatures.

Overall good kettle and nice pour. The initial setup was a bit scary. Followed the instructions and fill water below max line. The first boil took more than 5 minutes and water ooze out from kettle. Had to tried several times to get it right. After this though everything works fine. Water boils quickly and temperature control is very convenient.One button control take some getting used to so I don't use the timer function much.

So far I’m loving this kettle. I haven’t had any issues with breakers or it being overpowered. I get cold filtered water out of the fridge. It goes from 39 degrees To 200 in a few minutes. The pour has a lot of control. I like the timer feature and when I turn it back on it’s at the last temp setting so I don’t have to turn the dial every time.

Heats fast, I do not think it is overpowered. Very simple and intuitive to use. I love the fact there are not buttons all across the front. I love the polished mirror finish stainless on the inside.

If you're looking for precision so that you can achieve the consistency from day to day, week to week, in your coffee, this is it!

Love the dial for setting temperature quickly and precisely. Keeps its temperature setting after removing it and replacing it on the base. All in all, a great little kettle.

Love our new OXO kettle. It is sleek, easy to use and love that I don’t have to reset the temp every time I pick up to use it like our Bonavita required. If you are looking for a multi-talented kettle for tea or pour overs, this is it! And LOVE SCG! xoxoxoxoxo

PROS: Heats up very fast and pouring is easy and exact. It allows you to dial in an exact temp, which is great. Reasonably comfortable handle, although it'd be nice if it connected to the bottom for better balance.CONS: Not the most intuitive interface, as there's only one button and a dial. I'd prefer more buttons that tell you exactly what to do, versus the new trend of making everything as compact and small as possible. Also, it takes a LOT of twisting to get from 100 F to 200 F, which means if you want to change it that much, you're twisting for 10 seconds. No presets either, which is disappointing. It's a shame -- for $100, it should offer these features. As clunky as the Bonavita is, it is easier to use.

Heats up fast. I love that you can dial in a temp (especially for green tea) and that it keeps water at a given temp.

This kettle is amazing. Its form factor takes up no space on the counter and the cord tucks away perfectly  not to mention the kettle itself is gorgeous along with its digital display. All the functions are done with a push of a button and the boiling time ASTOUNDS me. This thing boils water FAST. Highly recommend for pour overs and tea lovers everywhere. Just buy it. You'll love it.
