As a former owner of multiple Saecos this seems to be an improvement. The interface is nice. I can almost instantly get to brewing rather than waiting for clean cycle. It's quiet. The milk system is easy to use (other than the fact that the milk levels are incorrectly marked on the container). The only down side is that the tray and bin don't fit well so it's hard to empty the grounds/cleaning water.
I only use the 5500 for Americano ... 2 per day.Prior to the 5500 I used an Exprelia EVO, which finally gave up the ghost. Frankly I like the EVO better. The 5500 takes about twice as long to brew a smaller cup. It always seems to "struggle" during the cycle. It seems have a water or steam problem. Maybe this is normal ... I hope you'll let me know because when I call your company, I never get through to a human!
The 5500 now sits next to the stalwart 3300 (Circa 2020) in our office. The LatteGo has been met with excitement, as we retire the stand alone milk frother. We have team set ups and things are working well for the 9 coffee drinkers in our office. The 5500 makes a solid beverage. Wish the dump box and water tank were a little bigger, and still can't fit the Yeti car tumbler under the brew group. Solid Performer - Solid Value.
Excellent customer service
This unit replaced a DeLonghi that had finally given up the ghost and I am surprised at just how much better it is than that machine. I don't like to work too hard for my morning cough and this unit is so quick to warm up, and if you use your saved favorite brew takes very little time to get your morning coffee. The milk frother is the best thing about it though. Even though it doesn't hold a lot of milk the ease of the cleaning cycle and taking it on and off has been wonderful. Highly recommend

So far very impressed. Did a bunch of research before. Many reviewers seem to prefer Delonghi units but this one is working very well right out of the box. Tweak your grind finer down to 2-4 range, increase bean strength and drop liquid to 30ml and you get a nice espresso. LatteGo working great too. Really quiet. I got <60db on my phone app from about 3 feet away. This unit seemed new despite being "open box", all components still in packaging. Great deal!
