A fun accessory to have and very easy to clean. I've always had issues swapping the baskets in the Rocket portafilters, and having this allows me to keep one of the regular portafilters with the backflushing basket in it permanently. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but the basket that comes with this portafilter is huge. You can use it to pull single, double, or triple shots. Because of its size, it doesn't work with the Rocket distributor/tamper for single or double shots.

I just picked up a beautiful vintage commercial spring lever espresso maker! I celebrated by buying this gorgeous, heavy weight, high quality rocket Espresso 58mm Bottomless Portafilter. I also upgraded my tamp mat with the Rocket Espresso Tamping Mat - Edge. And... I indulged in a new LUCCA Tamper - 58.3mm - which fits perfectly into the Rocket Portafilter. Last but not least, the tamper fits through my new LUCCA Dosing Funnel. So, what fun and each piece is exceptionally well made. I am getting my work flow down and pulling wonderful shots.

Coffee sprays everywhere. Comes with a triple basket, problem worse with a double basket. Watched several youtube videos, finally gave up.

This is just as sturdy and well-made as Rocket's portafilters, but it has a different handle made of bakelite and lacks the iconic R stamped emblem, so I removed one star for that.

It does what it is supposed to do; however, I wish Rocket would put an R on the end.

I love this portafilter. It's so easy to clean so that your espresso is always clean and free of any old coffee contamination. And it's really fun to watch the espresso come out. When you have a good bean, grind, and compaction, it's a beautiful syrupy looking flow.

Can't make good espresso without this - period. Experienced or not, you have to see your brew, watch what is happening, see how the water is flowing, test your tamp and grind...I've been making espresso for 30 years, and I can absolutely say... this is the #1 most import tool you will buy... I recommend it to everyone that doesn't have one.

These should come with Rocket machines. A must-have for your new maker.

I haven't gone back to the standard portafilter even one time since the bottomless one arrived. The coffee is much richer pouring through bottomless! Easier to clean, too.

Nice heavy portafilter. I like bottomless portafilter better than standard type for many reasons: 1. Any basket will fit. 2. Much easier to remove portafilter by pressing from the bottom. 3. You can watch your "plume" of coffee for dialing in brew, and it looks really cool. Only downside is that sometimes a "stray steam" of coffee will squirt out and soil the machine or you. But the grinders are so messy that clean up is a part of this hobby.

My recommendation for those switching from the standard two shot portafilter. #1 it is much lighter, that extra cast metal is gone, so it feels strange at first. #2 it comes with a muuuuuch larger basket. We were tripping from those super strong coffees. You can swap out your previous basket. This is also important if you have already dialed in your shot. #3 it is a bit messier. A fine spray will cover my shot timer. Not a problem but just to be aware.

I bought this accessory to assess my technique in tamping and leveling and it did after pulling 20 shots with it and adjusting to the needed tamp I am able to fine tune my technique with the help of this accessory

This just came and I've pulled one shot with it. As a portafilter, it holds the basket and fits snugly into the group. As a $60 piece of equipment from a major brand in the industry, I'm a little disappointed. The fit and finish are less than what I was expecting. While the handle is made from smooth, glossy plastic, the cap at the end of the handle is a rough piece of plastic and the seam isn't clean, giving a slightly unpleasant hand feel. The portafilter handle is unweighted, giving it an unbalanced feel in the hand. The handle length is also just slightly shorter than the single and double spout portafilters from Rocket, which I find curious.In the end, I don't love it and feel let down.I do not recommend the Rocket bottomless portafilter.

Love this BPF! As expected, the quality of this Rocket product holds true, its exceptional. It's a well designed & machined PF that is typical when it's manufactured in Milan by Rocket. I love the look of the tiger stripes from the Crema, and this BPF delivers!

See if you have it right by running a bottomless portafilter. I did change to a VST basket which gives a more consistent distribution before I started getting really consistent pulls.

Love the bottomless portafilter! I use it on my Rocket Appartamento. Much easier to keep clean than the regular portafilter, and gives a good view to see if there is any channeling of the flow through the grounds. It comes with a triple-shot basket, but I use my double. Highly recommended - unless you need to split into separate shots.

There is a learning curve with pulling a bottomless shot but great quality portafilter fits perfectly on the rocket appartamento. Very quick delivery from SCG many thanks!!

This bottomless portafilter fit snug at first, but after a few uses, I’m now able to crank it to the 6 O’clock position without straining. And after seeing the channeling, I changed my grind to a slightly finer setting practiced getting a level tamp. I’m now pulling crema rich shots consistently :-)

It's everything it's claimed to be. I wish I got it sooner. I have it now and that's what matters
