This is made well and is beautiful but is terribly designed. It's the worst knock box I've ever used. It's only about twice the size of a 58mm portafilter and there is no way to knock a puck in without coating the bar in coffee. I'm not sure if it's going to be worth the hassle of returning it, but I really regret buying it.

Please read all! Best looking and quality knock box out there. Only flaw was that the foam underneath is too small, and it also came out of place not sure how they managed to get that wrong it?s not centered. I happened to have some furniture bumper or scratch free protectors and stuck 2 underneath and now is more stable. Wish the foam was bigger, to may the bottom or better yet that it came centered! Anyways later I will purchase at Home Depot some black foam ones and add them. Hope this helps. Still worth it, minor flaw and you can unscrew the middle rubber knock bar for easier cleaning which is a plus and my other one didn?t have that option.

Holds a lot more used grounds than you would expect. Doesn't take up a ton of counter space. Solid and sturdy little piece of equipment.

Hard to tellFrom the pic, but annoyingly small making it easy to get offer grounds all over the counter - only recommending you are very space constrained.

Looks great and holds about 15 pucks comfortably. Easy to clean, polishes quickly with dry rag. Branding and stainless match the Rocket motif.

Nicely made, small footprint, the stainless knobs on the side can be unscrewed and the bar removed for easy cleaning. the weighted base keeps it in place for easy removal of the puck. an excellent piece of gear

As everyone else says...Bottom could use a larger rubber mat to help with slipping. Size is a little smaller than expected, bit overall good build quality! Would purchase again.

The worst designed knock box I have even encounter and it should be removed from the marketplace. First it is way to small a diameter for a knock box. Second, the pad on the bottom is no good. Worst purchase ever. I should have returned but I just threw out instead and bought an ECM one that is much better designed.

Coffee pops out of the portafilter in just one knock and drops right into the bucket. Completely eliminates the risk of a mess I had before.

Built like a tank, worth every penny!

this knock box would be better if they made the rubber pad on the bottom on the outside of the box & not in the center. It wobbles like a weeble.

I just recently received my Rocket Appartamento and decided order a knock box to match. Not knowing how sturdy it would be or if it would make a noise on my counter. Happy to say it's heavy and not wobbly and it has a thick rubber mat underneath to dampen any noise you might make.

Exceeded my expectations

The Rocket knock box looks great next to my Appartamento and works well with the exception of a rubber pad that doesn’t cover the entire bottom. Therefore, the metal surrounding the pad hits the countertop when you strike the knock bar. I thought of returning it but couldn’t get over how well it fit in with my espresso station. It really ties the room together.

I make 3 Espressos a day, and it’s big enough to last a few days before emptying. I have limited space, so the fact that it’s footprint is small is a big plus. It’s sturdy, well made, and beautiful. It’s not the cheapest but it’s well worth the price.

I didn't realize how much banging these devices endure when emptying spent grounds. This one is so well built -- strong metal and foam cushion -- that I expect it will outlast other brands. It has a large capacity yet is easy to clean -- in spite of not having a flimsy plastic liner as other brands use. It is good-looking and so well-desighed. Looks great next to your espresso machine.

We really like the Rocket knock box — solid and stays put. Plus it looks great.

I've been using this knock-box for about 4 years since purchasing an R58 from SCG. Overall it's been a pretty good box, and it's well made, but there are some issues. For one, it's way too small. Not only does it not hold much but the small opening is hard for me to hit and due to the sharp lip it has been hard on my portafilters - IF I fail to hit it dead-center.I'm also not crazy about the Rocket tamping station that came with the knock-box in the kit. I ended up having to put double sided tape under the tamper cup to hold it in place and the mat to keep it from sliding around. Too many pieces!My suggestion for anyone purchasing an espresso machine for the first time is to spend a little bit more and get a larger knock-box and a tamping mat. I think in the long run you'll be happier not having to replace the Rocket down the road.

What more can you ask for? It works while looking super stylish in my coffee zone.
