Works the best for me

I’ve tried other lubricants in my Saeco machine, but this one is definitely the best. It’s a little pricey, but I figure our machine is worth it to keep it working properly. It’s also hard to find, so I’m glad Seattle Coffee Gear carries it. Thank you.

Can I use the Miele lubricant on my Saeco brew unit since the Saeco lubricant is out of stock?

D
David P.

is this food safe?

Customer

I would think so. But I don’t think the lubricant touches any coffee anyway that you end up consuming.

Connee A.

Absolutely! We have been using it for years!Connee

Petko T.

Yes, absolutely.

Beth P.

Yes I believe it is safe. I have been using it for 13 years with no issues. It only gets applied to the grooves of the brew unit so I do not even think it gets into the coffee at all.

What models of Saeco machines does this product apply to?

Stephanie A.

You can use lubricant on the brew unit of any Saeco superautomatic. We generally only use it if you're hearing a loud squealing noise while the machine is brewing, and most of the brew unit maintenance is really just cleaning the brew unit by running it under water. If you choose to use some lubricant, just a tiny amount will go a long way, so use sparingly!

On which parts do you apply this lubricant?

Vasile H.

Works great. I like it because it is a Seaco product and it is made for the machine

Brian H.

I bought this to lubricate the brew group of a Saeco xelsis. It shows in the user manual (which can be downloaded) the exact locations in the brew group that the lube should be applied.

Mark D.

You apply it on all the parts that slide. You should be able to figure this out by looking at the brew group once it's removed from the machine.

Douglas W.

To the slide guides on the brew group assembly. The Odea Go Cleaning and Maintenance Manual on page 30 and 31 provide instructions under "cleaning the brew group" under steps 3 and 4.Step 3 says: Lubricate the brew group guides using the supplied grease only.Step 4 says: Apply the grease evenly on both slide guides.

Pls have a look at gaggia or saeco maint video on YouTube, it is very clear there

Fentress M.

The brew group needs the lubercation; and in particular there's a kind of spindle that moves the bottom cilinder up and down that has to move freely. If, when the brew group is dumpimg the plug of coffee into the waste bin atthe end of brewing a shot, if the item isn't lubricated enough, you'll hear a kind of "plastic groaning'. Lookie here. I'm giving you a link to a video made wtih Gail from Seattle Coffee Gear showing how to lubricate the brew group which is common to Saeco. Most of their brew groups are the same, even after Phillips has taken a lot of Saeco over. I think you'll find that informative and instructive. I go without making espressos than I go where I have to have several a day. On you tube dot com, there's a link with Gajl from Seattle Coffee Gear showing you how to lubricate your Saeco brew group Follow her instructions and example. I hope that halpe you!

Customer

On the side Guides of the brew group. Only after it has been removed, cleaned and dried.

Ian D.

Hi,Yes, it's not clear from the documentation what to do with the lubricant. I apply it to the tracks where the moving parts slide. If you look inside the brew unit you'll see there are two tracks. That seems to have worked for me. Good luck with it!Ian

Marie M.

The two slide areas of the brew unit.

Kim W.

The brew group, once a month. Search youtube for the Philips-Saeco espressobrew group lubrication.flv video to show you exactly how. it's extremely helpful!

I wish I knew, My Vienna is making squeaking noises and I think it needs a lube, too. I've tried the obvious places but it hasn't helped.

Customer

Internal areas in the brew unit where the plastic parts that move and touch when the brew unit is operating. Areas where the plastic touches the guides, ext. After use, only clean the brew unit with cold water rinse, do not rub away lubricant. Hot water dissolves lubricant

Stephen W.

On the tracks on the (in)side of the brew unit and the places it pivots...I use a qtip as it is very thick
