Home espresso has a brand new look with the Certified Refurbished Saeco Xelsis superautomatic espresso machine. Front and center sits a bright, chrome-trimmed touchscreen that brings custom control to over 15 different drink options. Programming is done through responsive sliders for dose, temperature, shot length and preinfusion. Once set, drinks can be saved to multiple user profiles, so you'll never forget your favorite morning recipe. Lattes and Cappuccinos are similarly set up with additional options for milk texture and volume for a delightful morning treat. I was hesitant on buying a refurb especially with the limited warranty. I'm pretty sure our unit still has all the protective plastic on it so it seems it was t even used, though the grinder was set to a lower setting than I think it comes from the factory with. No biggie, that might be the only indicator of use. The machine makes great coffee, especially milk drinks. I'm following the process of brewing a few hundred cups before adjusting the grinder too much. Straight espressos seem to brew a little too quick and are a little watery, so hopefully a lower grind setting helps, but for summer I'm making iced drinks anyways. My only anxiety revolves around the limited warranty, vs the 2 years if new, but I read reviews of others who bought refurbs and their machine is going strong after 5+ years so I'm hopeful I got a good one. I normally wouldn't spend so much in a coffee machine but with 15% off, and then a $50 code for some boutique coffee after, I feel it was a good deal.

The machine arrived well packaged. It looks nearly new. There were a few minor scuff marks on the bright metal bits, but nothing serious enough to warrant scrutiny. It still had one of the factory stickers on it. It has performed wonderfully through 20 or so drinks. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase refurbished from Seattle Coffee Gear again.
