Key Features

  • Bottomless - This stainless steel open bottom design makes it easy to diagnose your tamping technique and grind setting—and makes for those gorgeous striped shots you see in instagram posts.
  • Slanted Grip - These bottomless portafilters come at a slanted angle—just like some of the best commercial portafilters—for better ergonomics and easier tamping.
  • Wood Options - Looking to dress up your machine? Opt for a maple or walnut wood handle.

Overview

You handle your machine's portafilter every day. Upgrade your most-used accessory with this Pro Bottomless Portafilter for Rocket Espresso and other E61 group machines. Each stainless steel portafilter is designed with an open bottom for improving your shots and a textured, slanted handle for better in-hand feel. Better, swap out the classic textured black handle for custom wood options in maple or walnut for an upscale look. 58mm diameter with a 21g triple basket.

Note: Not compatible with Rancilio espresso machines.

Portafilter kinda hits below the belt.

Portafilter works great. But doesn't have the best fit with some filter baskets. The black plastics feels kinda cheap. The stainless little decal or whatever you call is already rusted. Probably should've spend the extra bucks and got the wood version instead.

Not a good one

Cannot get a good tamp on the grounds. Seems a little big for a 58 mm. basket.

Looks and feels great but did not seal well on a Silvia

Unfortunately did not seal well on my Silvia. I really liked the walnut handle. I bought a Rancilio bottomless one with a normal handle and that seals great.

Enjoy the ability to use a Normal Size Coffee Cup due to the extra space between the the group head and the base on My Machine

A great value

a great value, This does not have the weight of the real deal from Rancilio, however this one includes the basket, the Rancilio version does not. I like a triple espresso in the AM, this suits me nicely

Good bottomless portafilter

Nice portafilter. Ordered a double basket, holds about 22g coffee so slightly large for that, bottom of the portafilter holder is not as sharp as some cheaper versions but also not rounded and refined in shape. Quality of the filter basket is good. Overall a good buy at this price, I'd say.

Great product, I got it on sale which made it an excellent value as well.

Nice portafilter which retains heat well. I used with a 22g VST basket which was great. The portafilter is fairly heavy and well balanced and it has an angled handle.

Handle was damaged with the plastic being gouged out a bit. Works fine though so didn't bother with the hassle of returning.

Year later

A year later, my walnut portafilter still looks good and works perfectly with my Rancilio Silvia.

Adds class to my espresso machine

Beautiful handle. Really brings together my Diletta Mio espresso machine. If there was another model with a bottom that included a double portafilter, would definitely be interested.

Looks great with the wooden handle and works really well.

Looks great with the wooden handle and works really well. The filter basket that comes with it is nicely sized and also works well but is very difficult to remove from the portafilter however my existing filter baskets work well with it and interchange easily. All in all it is really a great item and reasonably priced.

Beautiful. Not functional.

While certainly not aesthetically unpleasing, the ergonomics and design of Seattle Coffee’s bottomless portafilter would appear to lack input from an actual espresso barista.I purchased a walnut handle for use in my ECM Casa V. The walnut handle is just that, solid lightweight wood. As aforementioned, while inarguably very pleasing to the eye, it is horribly unbalanced. Even with an empty basket, I struggle to keep this portafilter centered on my scale. It also lacks that weighted feel I have come to enjoy with my ECM brand porta filter. I cannot speak to the Porta filter that Seattle Coffee makes with the black plastic handle- from the photos it does appear to contain a metal rod or at least a metal cap on the end of the handle, which may very well add a more balanced feel?Secondly, the angle of this handle is so severe, it gets in the way of centering a cup directly under the basket. This makes for a rather messy cleanup.I am returning and cannot recommend.

Great value

Does the job. Fits well in my profitec 500. Cheapest portafilter I’ve found. Looks and feels good.

Looking to see if this is the same bottomless portafilter that works for the saeco aroma?

Will this fit Breville bambino plus?

Patrick C.

Hi there, it will not, this is a commercial style 58mm portafilter, the Bambino Plus uses a smaller proprietary Breville portafilter.
