Overview

Dirty grinder? Clean it up with Urnex's Supergrindz burr grinder cleaner. Reformulated to work for superautomatic espresso machines (most of which are near-impossible to disassemble for cleaning), simply add a capful to an empty hopper to clean out the oil and residue left behind by coffee beans.

How to use SuperGrindz

  • Remove all coffee from the bean hopper
  • Brew 2 large cups of coffee to use up all remaining beans in the grinding chamber
  • For superautomatics, add 26 g (1 full cap) of SuperGrindz
  • After adding the SuperGrindz, add 78 g of coffee (3 full caps) to the hopper
  • Brew 5 large cups of coffee, or until the pucks no longer contain traces of the yellow SuperGrindz tablets

Superauto Grinder Cleaning

?with a Superauto I can't tell if the burr grinder has in fact been cleaned; can't see/access it.Instructions were simple, so am assuming it did the job. Espresso tastes no better/worse, just preventative. (Superauto is 6 years old.)

We've run dark roast beans in our superauto for over 4 years, cleaning the grinder every year with this product. Cheap way to make sure we maximize the lifespan of the machine.

Highly recommended

Brought my Saeco Talea Giro Plus back to life after it started consistently rejecting beans. It?s 8 years old so it doesn?t owe me anything, but I?m glad that it was a simple fix to get it working again.I now clean the grinder every month along with the other recommended cleanings.

It worked well.

It performed well. ai just had to wait until the bean hopper was empty then ran it and some throwaway beans through the machine. I like that the color is bright enough to distinguish it from the coffee grounds.

Just what my machine needs

This is the exact item approved by my vending machine manufacture for a reasonable price. I wish you would carry Tabx Z61

Worked Great On My Gaggia Brera

Used it in my Gaggia Brera! Followed the instructions and it works great. I went from hearing my oily-er beans slipping and sliding around to grinding just fine (pun intended).Side note, my machine rejected and dumped my first batch because I had it set to 3 beans (max) to grind. It made a mess inside the brew group and discharge area. I recommend setting grind quantity to minimum/1 bean setting on the Brera to avoid having to clean up after these. This should be the same on Philips, Saeco, and Gaggia machines.

worked great

But it left some sawdust like residue inside the chute where I pour my bean for both my Delonghi Super auto espresso and my Breville coffee machine with grinder. Had to use several Q-tips to clean the residue

Did the trick!

I've had my superautomatic for almost 7 years (Saeco Synthia). Recently every cup of espresso was tasting very sour. I tried changing dose size, extraction period and grind settings, and the few temperature settings on my machine (as scientifically as I could). I decalcified and cleaned the water pathway. Nothing was making the sour taste go away and I was trying different espresso beans as well. The only thing I could think of that was left was the grinder (after all these years) and I was thinking about sending it out for some cleaning or repair when I happened on the demonstration video for this Urnex Grinder Cleaner for Superautomatics.Immediately after receiving the package I ran the cleaner through the grinder and then, using old (2018!) beans, cleaned the cleaner out of the grinder (about 5 espressos) and then tasted the 6th cup. What a huge difference this cleaner made. No more sour taste, plus, these 2 year old beans made a decent espresso (I'm finishing them off this week before moving on to more recently roasted beans).I then cleaned my Braun burr grinder (used for decaf) and will check out how well it worked after I replenish my decaf bean supply.Needless to say, I'm happy I don't need to pack up the machine and be without.

Helps a lot.

Great to finally have something to help get grinder going. I kept getting E01 errors, and didn’t want to have to ship my superautomatic for repair....again. Getting the error message yet again-using approved low oil beans-was such a let down and I asked the tech why there was nothing-an owner could do to protect and maintain the grinder. You’re in luck, he said, there’s a new product! He told me about supergrindz. It came in a few days, and I tried it. It took a few resets to get the product down into the grinder, and voila, no more error messages...until the product has run through and I put more beans in the hopper. So I cleaned out the hopper again, put another capful of supergrindz through and let it sit in the grinder overnight. Now I’m just guessing that letting it sit, will help absorb some of the oils, or whatever it is that is causing the grinder to shut itself off. I’m still working with it, to see what will work best, and any other options are welcomed.

Only product of its kind available for superautos

Seems to work in my Jura ENA Micro 1 without any issues or damage. SCG currently has the best deal on this product, get ‘em while they’re hot!

Is this good for the nuovo simenelli mdj?

Jake B.

Hello, You'd be better of with Urnex Grindz for a standalone grinder like the MDJ. The SuperGrindz is made to not cause issue when used in a super automatic machine's coffee grinder, and Grindz is a better choice.

I have a breville touch. Can i use this?

My Jura does not allow me to brew two cups of coffee after I remove the beans. Do I just skip this step?

C
Christopher B.

Can Supergrindz be used with Jura machines that don’t have a removable brew group?

Josef B.

I don't see why not. There's nothing in the instructions about cleaning the brew group after running these tablets through. I think they're essentially powdered tablets that attract the oils and deposits. You run them through along with coffee beans and there's a negligible amount of residue leftover..

Tony N.

I have used it on my Jura and have had no problems. Just made sure that I ran a couple of brews through until there are no more of the Supergrindz particles in the expelled “puck”.

Annabell O.

I'm not sure what you exactly mean by removable brew group. Does that mean being able to disassemble or remove the brewing unit of a super auto? If yes, then, yes, that is exactly the purpose of supergrindz. You don't have to rinse anything after using the supergrindz since its designed to "dry clean" the grinder. SCG states that you should "Brew 5 large cups of coffee, or until the pucks no longer contain traces of the yellow SuperGrindz tablets" so that you are cleaning out an of the tablet residue from the brewing unit.

John S.

I’m not sure I understand the question. There is no regroup on a grinder in this product as far as I know is only for use in cleaning your coffee grinder.Enter an answer to this question.

Is this gluten free?

Annabell O.

Yes, according to manufacturers website for product info. I couldn’t paste the link here, but “ Formulated from all-natural, completely food safe and gluten-free ingredients”

Patrick C.

Hello, This is what Urnex lists on their site:"Formulated from all-natural, completely food safe and gluten-free ingredients."

Paul G.

I just read the label, and I don't see gluten or gluten free mentioned on the label. umex has a website you might search there.

Customer

I have no idea. Only trace amounts of the product would be left in the machine after following the cleaning process.
