I have owned my Barista Touch for close to 7 years now. Never a problem. Has paid for itself. Makes such good coffee, I no longer have any desire to buy from a shop anymore. The burrs are getting a little worn but still grinds a medium roast without issue. I do wish I could replace the burr set with the Baratza burrs.

As a newbie, shopping for an espresso machine was somewhat daunting. I took months of searching the market, reading reviews, and learning about making good espresso before I was ready to pull the trigger on a machine. Then, there's always the concern that this expensive tool won't meet up to expectations. I decided to wait for at least a month before making this review. Bottom line - still thrilled!Breville packaging, build quality, and info provided is very good. The ease of use with this machine is excellent. The quality of the espresso drinks is shocking, and still improving as we learn. I love the ability to make small adjustments with the touch screen and save settings. With very little fuss I was able to start making off-the-hook espresso, breve cappuccino and chai lattes almost immediately. After a month, the entire family has gotten enough enjoyment from this machine to justify the purchase. Grinding - dosing: 9/10. Could be less messy, but that would take away some of the fun, and really, would be a super-auto. Included dosing collar is very helpful. Grind setting is really manual with a digital indicator that a little inaccurate, but ok. Tamping: 9/10. The included razor leveling tool is helpful, and a great compact, inexpensive way to accomplish the goal, but is a bit finicky to use. Tamping tool is solid and the magnetic top is great way to keep it off the counter and out of the way. Brewing: 10/10. In my limited experience the handle, portafilters are solid, well built, easy to clean. Water heats up instantly. Breville recommends running some water through to make sure it's well heated, but really, it's steaming after 1 second, so not much is needed.Frothing: 10/10. The self-cleaning auto-froth feature seems pretty fantastic to me. Ability to dial in the froth (maximum!) and finish temp digitally is very helpful. Does an amazing job of frothing milk, chai mix, or half & half for breve's. Cleaning out the drip tray is quick & easy. Unless you want to control the frothing yourself, this seems like an ideal thing to automate.Overall: 9.5/10. Quality build with cost and emphasis put in the right places. Sure, there are a few plastic parts and places where the machine could have been industrialized, but this is aimed at the home market and those things would certainly drive up the cost (and make it harder to move on the counter). The grinder, heating coil, pump and digitized smart controls are all points that make this machine perform well for me, the target home consumer. IMO this product is well designed and well-fit to the intended audience. In the end, I'm really wishing I hadn't waited so long to buy this. Last point, I'm genuinely thankful to SCG Staff for providing lots of added value in the form of detailed product reviews, product info, how-to's and other guidance to help customers navigate through the hype and ultimately enjoy better coffee. Awesome job guys, you've earned another loyal customer!

Love, love, LOVE this machine!! After shopping and looking at this espresso machine for more than 6 months, Seattle Coffee Gear had the best deal. The milk frother on this machine is the best I’ve ever used. We’ve use several different kinds of beans (some adjustments have to be made in grind time and size for different beans, so that can be a bit tricky), and it all comes out tasting amazing. My uncle has had this same machine for 2 years and still loves his as well.

I researched a lot before purchasing this machine. I have barista experience and wanted a machine that allowed me to adjust the grind of the espresso. This one does. I also was looking for one that my husband and kids could do too. They each have a customized setting and it is extremely user friendly. I even have my neighbors drinks programmed as well! I’m really happy with my choice.

This is such an awesome beautiful coffee machine. Im not an expert on coffee, but from an ease of use and cleaning standpoint, it rocks! If you don’t want to have multiple machines on your counter all the time this is a great option. It looks beautiful, and does everything all in one. The grinder is good, not great, it makes good espresso not great and the foam is solid but not top of the line.The trick to this machine is heating up the Porta filter I run two glasses under it every morning and filled them both with hot water to get it warm. The machine heats up in three seconds which is awesome. Once you learn the tricks the machine is solid.

We have used Saeco superautomatics over the years, but we get a much richer cup of espresso with the Barista Touch. It can be slightly messy with grounds spilling out during the grinding process, but that has not been a deal breaker. We looked at the Oracle Touch, but could not justify the huge price jump for the minimal work we have to do. We bought a 53mm, 30lb espresso tamper along with a tamping mat, and that made the tamping pretty foolproof. We found Breville and Seattle Coffee’s videos on setting the grinder, and had that quickly dialed in. I wanted to take all the guesswork out of it for my wife. She loves the automatic frothing and the ability to customize the milk for her drinks. So overall we are very happy with this machine and it looks great on the counter. Just keep in mind that it does not swivel like the Oracle Touch, so if you put it under standard 18” cabinets, it can be hard to add water in the back.

This machine is an at-home workhorse. What I personally enjoy about it is that there’s enough automation to get the drink going (without doing everything) but the automation can be overridden. The user gets to choose the order of grind, brew, and steam as well as the parameters of each (coarseness, time, temperature, etc).

My experience with this machine has been disappointing. After it arrived, I set it up and it promptly malfunctioned. The bolt holding the bottom grinder burr in place was loose, came off the first time I attempted to grind beans, and jammed in the grinder burrs. I returned the machine and received a new machine in exchange. Breville's customer service was, by the way, excellent; speedy, and no questions asked. However, the second machine appears to have an underpowered grinder motor. Although it works well with dark roast beans, it consistently jams using light roast beans. It appears that the grinder motor simply can't power through the denser, light roast beans. For an expensive machine, I expected much more. In sum, if you use only softer, dark roast beans, perhaps this machine will serve you well. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

I took a while to make the jump from a pod coffee maker to the Breville Barista Touch Espresso Machine but so happy I made the switch. I was worried it would be too time consuming but the transition has been so easy and so much more flavorful. The ease of use is awesome with so many drink options. I highly recommend.

I've been eyeing this for years and I amglad I finally took the plunge. One of my best buys and saves me a lot of money going to cafes for latte. Coffee is hot in minutes and we can't be happier.

I went from a fully automatic to this machine. Best choice I ever made! This machine pulls a great expresso that is smooth. It is also very easy to clean. Have had the machine about 1 months and so happy I made the switch.

I love my Barista! It took awhile to dial in but now it's good. Set up was easy. Simple to use. I love the all in one function of it and creating different drinks. I use it multiple times a day.

The perfect machine for me. I love this machine! I was using the the Bambino Plus which is a great machine for a beginner but couldn't always get a consistent brew. I always get great coffee from the Touch. The Barista Touch is very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this machine as a great purchase.

Love love love it. I was able to increase the temp on the coffee and milk. I love my coffee real hot just like it is at Starbucks. I am saving so much money by not going to Starbucks. So easy to use once you do it a couple of times.

Grinding and brewing are very good. However, frothing is marginal. Had I know that, I probably would have bought a different machine. I'm disappointed that SCG doesn't make that issue clear in their reviews or in the video that Gail does.

This is my second Breville espresso machine. I upgraded primarily for the frothing. It works like a charm. Being able to set up changed for individuals and keep those changes is also a great feature. My only complaint is the lack of a pressure gauge
