Overview

Make your morning pot of coffee better than ever with the new Bonavita Enthusiast Drip Coffee Maker. Designed to make your morning pot as simple as it is delicious, the Bonavita Enthusiast comes with a bevy of labor-saving features to get your coffee quickly. A removable water tank with fill lines makes trips to the sink simple, and even offers corresponding coffee amounts so you'll never have to calculate your coffee dose again. Similarly, a redesigned hang-basket makes filter and coffee filling equally easy. Dedicated power, brew, bloom, and descale buttons offer more clear controls than single switch setups. Finally, the clear glass carafe and low-power warming plate aim to keep coffee fresh and drinkable for up to an hour after brewing. Each Bonavita Enthusiast model is SCA Gold Cup certified for ideal brewing temperature and times, and uses flat basket filters easily found in most grocery stores.

Undecided

Still undecided if we really made the right choice. figuring out what to do with the filter basket while you put the filter and coffee in it? (sitting it on the counter seems gross). Since we're used to the old Bonavita, we set the filter basket on the carafe, then sometimes forget to slide it into the maker. The cone shaped filters were easier to deal with (thicker and don't wrinkle up as easy). Initially we had issues with the instructions (doesn't say what bloom is/does so we could decide to use or not use it, doesn't say if brew begins automatically after bloom is complete). A few emails with SCG and Bonavita solved those. It is easier for us to fill the carafe with water and pour it into the water container rather than remove the water container and install it ,full of water, back onto the brewer. We would prefer the lid flipped up, rather than having to remove it and put it back on. The coffee tastes good and the carafe is beautiful and pours much nicer than the old Bonavita.

Not my favorite model :-/

This is my (3rd or 4th?) unit in 12 or so years (i've had 2 2nd homes in that time also). The portable tank idea seems OK but i find cumbersome. The ounce/cup marking on the tank are NOT ACCURATE so I've made adjustments. As Usual I worry about the all glass carafe as I have broken more than 1 over the years. So overall it is not worthy of 5 stars that Ive given ALL my previous units

Love Bonavita

Very nice coffee maker. Makes great coffee, Easy to clean. Cheaper than Moccamaster and not as many parts to clean. Shower head saturates all the coffee and I also love the Pre-Infusion. Coffee Maker is very quit also.

Can you make just two cups ?

Jake B.

Hello! It appears the official recommendation in Bonavita's Guide is that 4 cups is the minimum you should brew on this machine. This would be about 20 oz. of water which generally nets you 2 full-sized mugs worth of coffee, as the cups listed are 5 oz. each.
