Key Features

  • Built-In Burr Grinder - These stainless steel burrs provide great grind consistency, giving you that fresh ground coffee that is so important for a tasty cup.
  • Adjustable Grinder & Calibration - Adjust your grind until it's just right for the bean you're using! To help you do that, the Grind Control has a calibration function. Simply enter that mode and the coffee maker will grind for 10 seconds. Weigh the grounds and enter the weight into the coffee maker, which will now grind the appropriate amount of time to produce the perfect volume.

  • Auto-On - Programmable clock and auto-start functionality.
  • LCD Screen - Easy to read and use - can't go wrong with that!

WHAT A COFFEE MACHINE!!!

What a coffee MACHINE! I surprised my wife with the Breville Grind Control for her 40th birthday, and we are both blown away by the aesthetics / build quality / coffee flavor and overall performance. This replaced our 15-year-old Cuisinart, and we are now Breville fans for life! Any negative reviews out there are due to people not spending time reviewing the material that accompanies this machine. GET IT NOW!

Filter door opens unexpectedly

I love the concept and the coffee but the filter door opens in the middle of brewing on occasion and can create a mess

Disappointed customer

I thought it would be a decent quality machine however it has proven otherwise. It has always been a chore to clean as the grinder shoot clogs regularly. At about 6 months the spring to the water hatch failed. NOW at about a year old it has decided it doesn't want to grind with error 1. It is cleaned and descaled regularly. wasted 400.00 I am looking for a new machine.

Terrible coffee maker

This is the worst coffee maker I've ever owned. I like strong coffee. I put the settings at 8 the strongest setting with the finest grind. It came out tasteless. No flavor at all. I called them up and they said to run it for a minute push the filter basket out for one minute then put it back in and it will continue brewing. Well it didn't start brewing, I had to push the start button again and it started grinding the beans again. After it was finished there was still no flavor.

So disappointed

Fantastic idea but just doesn't work out in the end. I bought a scale to calibrate it. I bought my favorite coffee to put through it. I went through $50 in coffee trying to figure it out. I never got this to make a good cup of coffee consistently. It did happen once but I had simply forgotten to empty the basket and it brewed the new on top of the old. When making a full pot everything was extra bright even with not bright at all coffee. Using the 10-20 ounce mode was better but then it had a horrible plastic taste about a week into its use. At it's calibrated setting even with strength all the way up it made tea strength coffee. Way too much money for such a hassle. I gave up and sent it back and since I now had a scale I bought a kettle and a french press and couldnt be happier. Found out I love a 14:1 brew strength. Cannot recommend this product and really, really wanted to like it.

We bought it again.

Makes drinkable coffee. Hasn't broken yet. Bit of a chore to clean.

A vast improvement over the first model.

This one is so much quieter than the previous model that I had for 8 years. It took me a while to get the grind just right but now it's perfect and it's 50% faster than the first model! This time they do have a true insulated carafe unlike the first. Coffee in 5 minutes, hell yeah!

Absolutely Love this coffee maker

Absolutely love our new coffee maker. Nothing better then freshly ground coffee every morning. Easy to use and easy to clean (except the pot - the top of the pot makes it difficult to pour out the last cup and to get inside pot to clean it.....but --- it keeps the coffee hot so this one issue can be tolerated)

DO NOT BUY!!

I wish I could give this machine negative stars...because that's exactly what it deserves! This thing blows through beans like there's no tomorrow, and nothing that I do seems to help! Recalibrate? No help. Adjust the grind control? No help. Descale? No help. Clean out the hopper and chute? No help.It is so frustrating to spend $300 on a machine that would serve me better in the trash! Please don't make the same mistake I did...DO NOT BUY this machine until Breville figures this out!!

A Ferrari at a Hyundai price.

We have had this machine for a year now and love it. Like a fine auto machine you need to keep it maintained and clean to get the best performance out of it.

Quality machine and company

Quality machine . Very happy with my purchase . I did have an issue with the latch on the water compartment . Called customer service and had a new replacement machine on my door step in less than a week . Even a follow up phone call from them . Great all the way around .

Breville Grind Control Coffee Maker

I love Breville products! Their quality and performance is superior to all other brands that I have purchased. I did not give the 5th star because I’m disappointed in the closure mechanism on the lid to the water tank. It requires a manual manipulation before it remains closed. I would, however recommend it to others without hesitation.

Nothing is perfect, but I'm happy with it.

First of all, as a co-owner of a coffee shop, I've spent countless hours on the pour over bar and countless hours talking employees and customers through what goes into a good cup of coffee. So when I'm home, I just want the easiest way to a decent cup of coffee. I'm less concerned about perfect extraction and maximizing flavor profile. This brewer is close enough. Yes, the carafe holds on to the last couple of oz. Yes, it can be frustrating. But most thermal coffee equipment I've used - commercial and home - sacrifices ease of cleaning for thermal design. To clean it, use a long handled brush and hot soapy water. If you're leaving coffee long enough in the carafe that it's staining, just sprinkle a little Cafiza and hot water into the carafe and let it sit for 5 minutes. It'll look good as new. Also, just wipe the disc down after each use, rinse the basket assembly, and set it out to dry. There's also a catch-tray that can be very easily removed and cleaned. Habitual cleaning of the disc and a clean and dry basket should remedy issues folks are having with grinds clogging the chamber. If you're grinding darkly roasted or flavored beans, it would especially be a good idea to run a handful of Grindz through the hopper every couple of weeks. This is all par for the course with caring for coffee equipment. Cafiza and Grindz are used daily in our shop. No, it isn't as convenient as a Keurig, but I believe the quality of coffee and decreased waste is worth the little bit of extra effort. In comparison to other reviewers, I haven't had issues with under or over extraction. But I agree that the grinder is loud - more so than a Baratza Encore.

Makes yummy coffee, & I love coffee

Love the end result of yummy coffee.....I find the filling of coffee basket with preground the top is top heavy & doesnt stay up while I'm putting coffee in, minor nuisance.

Great cup of coffee!

I baught my machine at Williamson Sonoma and I love it! Can you load more videos on how to calculate my machine and what beans to set at what grind control. The engineer's who designed this machine are truely genius.

Great Custom Coffee

We have been using this coffee maker for almost two years. We like that you can brew a 12 cup pot of great coffee. A little bit of a learning curve to dial in the perfect cup/pot of brew but well worth the effort. Do make sure you clean the coffee chute with a brush at least weekly or more if you are grinding oily beans to avoid plugging. No problem with plastic smell. The only thing we don't like is the carafe design, not really a major problem for all but the last couple of ounces. We brew at least one full pot a day and this is the best drip coffee maker we have owned to date (we have tried many)!

Terrible Design

Maybe it's my OCD, but it ticks me off that you need to turn the carafe upside down and shake it to get the last of the coffee in your cup. It's very hard to clean the carafe. Imagine trying to wash the inside of a beer can through the little hole in the top. That's not the end of the world though. The two major issues that make me want to throw it away are 1) No matter how well you maintain and clean (and you need to do it all the time, which is a real pain), coffee randomly spills over the basket and flows all over the counter. 2) It grinds way too much coffee. I have it set on the lowest setting and it still grinds for days. I love strong coffee, but this is just wasteful.

Piece of junk

An a expensive piece of junk, it is of poor design. coffee grounds get plugged up from grinder, takes a hour to clean up the mess when cleaning the unit.

Disappointed

If you like a lukewarm cup of coffee this machine is for you. We don’t even use it any longer. Big investment for a low quality machine. I gave it one star for marketing. The unique features it has sold us. Boy were we fooled!!

Very Satisfied

I am very hard to please when it comes to my coffee, but I highly recommend this coffee maker. I bought ones for both the house and the office, plus more as gifts. It offers a convenient way to make a consistently good cup of coffee. Clean up is minimal between pots. Dump the used grounds, and wash out the basket. If you use frequently like me (2-3 pots per day), you should plan to clean out the chute weekly. If less frequent user, plan to clean out every 15 to 20 uses. Unit is well made from quality materials. I marvel at the engineering. You can make a single cup to upto 12 cups. The thermal caraffe keeps it hot for many hours.

Disappointed

This is my second Breville grind coffee maker and I loved my first one and had it for years. I bought this one 6 months ago and I hate it. I have never had so much trouble with a coffee maker. I have had numerous incidents of my grinder freezing up despite my maintenance. Today the coffee maker won and I will be buying a new coffee maker from a different manufacturer. I would not recommend anyone to buy this coffee maker until breville can fix these problems

Looks Nice, but poorly engineered

I have only had this Coffee Grinder/Maker for about two weeks and I have found a few things I like and a few I don't like. The Pro's: Nice looking, Feels like it is well built. Carafe keeps coffee hot for hours, Controls are simple to use.The Cons: Bean hopper does not hold a lot of beans. Some grinders hold a 1/2 to 1 pound of beans and this does not.The strength of the brew has settings from 1 to 8. My wife and I like weak Americana coffee and even after setting the coffee strength to the number 1 the coffee is still to strong and we are using mild beans (There should be more settings).Coffee grinder is very noisy, but tolerable as reported by other reviews. The stainless steel looks pretty, but shows every finger print or dirt. It Coffee Maker should be made with the same finish as the new non finger print material used in the new kitchen appliances. The coffee pot does not hold a full 12 cups as stated or if it does they must be some very small cups as compared to our previous Cuisinart Coffee Maker. The other thing that is very annoying and should have been addressed by engineering a long time ago is the fact that the coffee carafe does not empty all the way. When you pour your last cup of coffee about one or two ounces remain in the pot which require you to undo the twist on lid and turn the pot upside down to get the remaining coffee and grinds out. The engineers should have been embarrassed and then taken out to be shot. There was no thinking or testing when making this simple device. I also wish that this expensive coffee system was wifi/App compatible and/or Amazon Alexis compatible so that it could be commended to start your brew from anywhere once set up. I would have also liked a place to store the extra power cord rather then have it all over my kitchen counter.Update 10/28/2018-I have now had this coffee maker for about a year and I would not buy it again. It has stoped working three times due to the bean grinder shoot getting clogged up and it being extremely hard to impossible to clean. The steam from making coffee rises and dampens the chute where the ground beans get dispensed. The grinds then clump and become hard as a rock. Breville does not make the coffee maker accessible to take apart in this area. The chute has a motorized disk that closes the chute and this is factory sealed so it can not be cleaned or replaced. You need a flashlight and some makeshift tools to unclog this chute (no thinking was involved in the engineering). When this coffee maker breaks again it will go in the garbage and I will buy a separate grinder and coffee maker.
