MARY/PATRICIA T.
Great for 8 ounces, but need help for 12 or 16 oz. lattes

I like the DeLonghi Expresso Machine because: It has a small footprint; an automatic AND a manual setting; it self-cleans when turned off; it reliably heats to 160 deg.; the Control Panel is easy to read and to use; and I like having 3 choices for the amount of foam and 3 for the heat. This machine and its Quick Start Guide are designed to "automatically" make an 8-oz. latte, and it does a nice job with that. I suppose 8-oz. is popular in Europe, but here in the U.S., I am accustomed to either a 12 oz. or 16 oz. latte. When I proportionally altered the process to make a 12-oz. cup, some of the accessories that came with the machine were inadequate and, for me, the taste was not as good.Unfortunately, neither the Guide (very helpful and clear for 8-oz.) nor a phone conversation with one of your store's techs helped me.Could you, as experts, determine the amount of coffee, amount of milk, and "automatic" positions on the control panel to make standard U.S. 12-16 oz. lattes? Then, with each newly purchased machine, give the buyer: a supplementary guide explaining how to make those lattes; a larger pitcher (the supplied pitcher is too small to accommodate more milk); and a different measuring spoon (the included spoon is very difficult to use, especially with arthritic fingers like mine).I have now figured out "my" process and want to keep the machine. Unfortunately, I have expended far more time and energy that I had hoped to get to this point. A supplementary guide would have helped a lot!
