Quality is extremely lacking. The carafe is flimsy and plastic is flimsy creating a crack where the top sits onto the carafe. They want to charge you 50.00 for a new carafe plus shipping. the reviews elsewhere show this is clearly a design flaw in the plastic. also the pour comes out on the side not smooth. Moccamaster will not stand by the carafe stating if it was broken during delivery they'll replace but anything after that they wont. for an expensive maker they need to go back to the drawing board.

I'm a Moccamaster fan and really enjoy the user ease and function of the KBGV coffee maker. I didn't realize initially that my coffee grind was too fine, until I watched a video showing a flat grind bed after brewing; the user guide hints at this, and after dialing in a more coarse grind I'm able to achieve a good brew! While we typically use thermal carafes (Frieling Elaganza) for multiple brews, the KGBV hotplate temperature seems fine for a single carafe (and the auto shutoff is welcome). While I typically handwash the glass carafe (etc.), all the components seem robust so far. Overall, I'm happy with the Moccamaster KBGV and would recommend to any coffee enthusiast.

We love our new Moccamaster. We recently got serious about upgrading our daily coffee experience. We now buy fresh roasted coffee beans and are enjoying flavors from our coffee maker that we only were able to find at the better coffee shops. I wish we had done this years ago. Thanks to the people at Seattle Coffee Gear for making this coffee maker so easy to purchase along with our coffee grinder. The purchase experience was excellent and it arrived quickly.

The best?. This is a replacement purchase. My original machine is still going after 15 years. We eased it daily, and loved every cup. Our visitors would often state how good our coffee is- they would note we severed the best drip in town. My daughter wanted a machine, so I gave her my 15 years old unit and bought a new one. I told her when the 15 year unit fails, I'll buy another. Easy to maintain, fits under a cupboard on the counter, classic looks, and super 'made in Europe' quality. Simply put, this is the best drip machine possible. Worth every penny, every day!

After debating for several months whether to drop $400 on yet another way to brew coffee, I took the plunge. So glad I did. I received my Moccamaster KBGV four days ago, and it has lived up to the billing. Every single cup of coffee I have brewed so far has been exceptional --- and I guess that's what makes it worth the expense. I have always found pour-over to be hit or miss. Sometimes I make a great cup; other times, not so much. With the Moccamaster the guesswork is gone. Simply put, if you want a consistently good cup of coffee, then this is the way to go. I could not be happier with my purchase.

So far, I'm happy with the coffee maker . Performs as expected ,coffee comes out nice and hot consistently just as I like it. The only drawback I can see is the plastic covers to the water and the coffee grounds seem a bit cheap for the price paid for the coffee maker other than that yes I am very happy with it so far and I would recommend this product. However, if you are looking for a bigger pot of coffee more than 10 cups, this is not the maker for you. And it is cups, not mugs as we are used to in the states

I wanted a low tech coffee maker. One that reliably brewed delicious coffee with just a slight push of the On button. I found my dream machine! I feel that it's my first car in coffee-machine-form. Just like my old '67 Volvo 122, this machine is well built, sturdy, no frills, impeccably designed and will be in my life for many years to come.

I had been using a cheap plastic coffee maker for years. I decided to try this after I started buying specialty coffee. It definitely improved the flavor of my morning brew

My reasons for ordering the Technivor were to have a hot cup of coffee at the start and for a period of time. This unit delivers. The second was to have a carafe so I can see the coffee. Again, I got what I wanted. Might I suggest however that cup markers be put on the carafe? I figured out from the writing on the side what amount of water delivers 8 cups but sometimes I'm making more or less.I also find the lid on the carafe flimsy. It has to fit just so and if I put my thumb on it to hold while pouring, I burn my thumb. Otherwise I like the machine and it makes a wonderful cup of coffee. Also it's amazingly fast.

Easy to use and keep clean . Compact . makes an excellent cup of coffee. No frills machine. Highly recommend , brewing time very rapid. Essentially makes a preset timer unnecessary.

Looks good and coffee taste great. Disappointed with how cheap the plastic and glass feel. For the price it should have a higher quality feel.

Makes excellent coffee. Ergonomics, such as uncomfortable carafe handle and fit of carafe under basket are disappointing. Seems overpriced, yet recommended as it may be the best available drip coffee maker.

4.5 stars. Great machine! Can it perfectly replicate the taste of a pour over? No. But it certainly comes close, looks great on my countertop, and beats any other drip machine I?ve used.

waited a long time, years, before buying a Moccamaster. the "select" version made all the difference for me. Prior to this purchase I initially used a french press, then pour over for my AM coffee. The KBGV select is every bit as good if not better than previous methods. Now for Seattle Gear's review! Love you! Very happy with the coffee maker. The coffee is fresh, delicious and hot. The only (small) downside is that there are a number of parts that need to be moved around to get everything ready. I?ve started setting everything up the night before so all I need to do is flip the switch in the morning, which makes the wait for the 1st cup easier!

Take two stars off because the carafe makes me want to buy a new machine. The heat from a fresh brew escapes the carafe from underneath the lid thumb lever when pouring, which is hot. Also if you don't pour really slow, the hot coffee is going to run down the sides onto your body or clothes.Other than that, the machine is great and makes a tasty cup of coffee! However the carafe alone makes me want to trash it.

Expensive, but makes great coffee as it makes the water very hot

The Moccamaster makes such good coffee; very smooth. It's fast brewing and simple. We have hard water and, after trying another maker, have gone back to the Moccamaster. My previous Moccamaster lasted over nine years.
