Only use for one type of grind

This was my first grinder for my espresso journey. The grinder tends to clump, so I started using the Crema dosing cup instead of hanging the portafilter from the hooks. When I was using the this grinder solely for espresso settings 4-8, I never had any problems adjusting the collar. The first time I adjusted the collar to coarse for brewing a pot of french press, the collar became extremely hard to adjust on the fine side. It's now been about two years of owning this grinder and I've needed to do a week of french press. The collar is so hard to adjust from very coarse to very fine. I'm either going to have to remove the collar to clean out the grounds or upgrade my grinder.

Portafilter adapters not as advertised

Our Gaggia Portafilter does not fit the included holders. I spent hours looking for an affordable grinder that would work with our portafilter, this grinds okay but requires extra steps to get the coffee into the filter. Won't buy Breville anything again, not worth the hassle. Disappointed.

Fast, quiet, static build-up

We are using this grinder for drip coffee only, so we are grinding straight into the filter basket. It grinds pretty fast and is rather quiet. Only downside is the considerable static that builds up. Even when moistening the beans in the hopper there will be grounds flying everywhere.

Power cord far too short, need extension

I wasn't expecting a power cord so short, about 12 inches, that I will need to buy an extension so it reaches the outlet from our coffee cart. The instructions say the length is for safety, to avoid a tripping hazard? Who is going to trip over a 12-inch cord sitting on a counter top, or does everyone grind their coffee on the floor. I haven't been able to use it until the extension cord is bought, tomorrow. I hope the remainder of my experience with this grinder is better, I'm not keeping something that has issues due to design flaws. The portafilter adapter that's suppose to fit my Gaggia Portafilter, does not fit but I should be able to work around this problem. So far, not impressed with this grinder or the brand.
