The Breville Oracle Jet brings fast heat up times and temperature stability both in one complete package. Built with dual thermojet heating elements—one for heating water and the other for heating the grouphead—the Jet promises heat-up in seconds and full-path temperature management. For grinding, Baratza-designed burrs and an Oracle-style 58mm auto-dosing tamper handles your puck prep, while milk steaming is managed by a MilQ smart steam wand. All this technology is controlled with a bright, responsive touchscreen, which features customizable drink recipes—including new cold espresso and cold coffee options. Doesn't Work

It stopped giving me grinding adjustment guidance just after a month. Ive troubled shooter twice over the phone about an hour each time. Now they want me to send it back so they can service it. Now I'll be out of an espresso machine for weeks and will end up with a $2,000 refurbished machine. I'm very disappointed after coming from my Express. Do not buy this, not worth the money.

Breville Oracle Jet Espresso Machine

The Oracle Jet far exceeded expectations. I'm able to dial in the proper grind size for more customization and better results. The steam wand automates the process for delivering the best cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites. A little pricey but I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Had great expectations for this product in light of prior experiences with Breville products, but sadly it did not lived up to it. I’ve had this product for several months and during this period of time I’ve been making two espresso every morning. Same coffee, beans with brewing times varying as much as 20 seconds between these two drinks. I reached out to Seattle coffee gear and their only suggestion was to change to a different espresso, coffee, bean from what I was using, which is Starbucks espresso beans.

Nice machine. A dual boiler "Jet" would be nicer

My Oracle Jet replaces an Oracle purchased from SCG around 2017. That machine made fantastic coffee but required two round trips to Breville for repair and one for replacement. Breville customer care was friendly and helpful. The warrantee service was reasonably prompt and convenient. Out-of-warrantee repairs, on the other hand, are unreasonably expensive and there are no local or regional repair shops that work on Breville machines. This new machine makes great coffee and has some nice features:The Jet heats up blazingly fast.Lattes, Espressos and Americanos are consistentThe display is prettyMilk texturing for lattes and hot chocolates is much nicer than the originalThe built-in grinder/tamper is a really nice and fairly unique featureThat said, a couple features of the new machine seem to be minor functional steps down from the originalI'm not crazy about the Thermocoil system. It sends water into the drip tray before every shot and water dispensing. That assures proper drip temperature but smaller tank needs to be refilled and the drip tray emptied after every four or five Americanos. That's not so terrible but its also not so convenient as the original. The display control panel, while pretty, doesn't really add much to the experience except time. The original Oracle set in volume- controlled mode is simpler to operate and more facile to manage. The Oracle Jet looks nice and makes fine drinks. I would prefer a dual boiler system and If I had not owned the "version 1" Oracle, I might love the Jet. It's a reasonable compromise of cost and features.

We Love This Machine!

We love it. We LOVE using local beans and smelling the grind after years of using nespresso pods. The difference in coffee quality is incredible, I'm exciting to make my coffee every morning! Feels like I live in my favorite coffee shop. The machine is easy to use and clean.

Oracle Jet

Setup on this machine is amazing. The screen walks you through every step of cleaning it up, putting it together, and pulling your first beverage. It took 4 runs for the machine to dial in our specific beans but then created a really good cappuccino. Breville and Seattle Coffee Gear have been on back order for the Oracle Jet but it was worth the wait.

Two years of waiting for the right machine.

Took a long time of watching and contemplating which one to get, I've been watching almost two years and soon as I saw this one it checked the right boxes for me. I liked the newer tech, better screen, auto tamping and the feedback it gives about adjusting grind size when the pull is to long or short. 2 months in, I love it. I say I wish I got this sooner but it didn't exist so I'm glad I waited. This is my first sub $200 machine so my experience comparisons aren't fair, but I can say it works great I'm still learning and the feedback I get is helping me dial in consistency.

Oracle Jet is Perfect for Us

The Oracle Jet is our first machine and it makes excellent espresso drinks. It accomplishes this with just the right amount of automation and machine provided advice. I particularly appreciate the help it provides dialing in a pull. For those of us looking for a great cup of espresso but not looking to take on a new hobby, the Oracle Jet perfectly fits the bill.

Elegant, well-designed machine but pulls shots no better than machines one fourth the price

If you are reading this review, you must have also watch online videos from influencers praising this machine. They are not wrong. In fact, this is one of the most well designed semi automatic machines out there in the market. All what is mentioned in those reviews but what no one mentions is how the end result - that is - your espresso shot compares with solutions (integrated or separate) that are half or even one fourth the price. A simple test on how well this machine performs is to run a double shot through a bottomless portafilter. You will immediately notice that no matter how much you dial in, it is very difficult to get this right. The grinder and the automatic tamper leave much to be desired. If you try with the single shot basket with a bottomless portafilter, it is a complete disaster. Be prepared for the shot to be splattered all over. You can waste as many bags of coffee beans you like. The only solution is either avoid using bottomless filter or do your own grinding, distribution and tamping, if you want to pull the shot the right way.The dial in assistance is a joke. It merely keeps on recommending to increase or decrease by one or two grind levels without any intelligence. You would have done this anyway just based on the brew time. The machine is convenient and easy to use nonetheless. If you have the budget, go for it but don't expect barista level results.

I just received the Oracle Jet yesterday. It was so easy to set up and get the right grinder setting. The expresso tastes really good. It is also so simple to use. I love it even more than I thought I would. There is nothing to dislike and much to love about the machine.

In the video above, he mentioned that light roasts come out sour. Has anyone had success with medium roasts?

Jasper P.

We have had the machine for a year or more and have been very happy either light and medium roasts that we like. I am no expert but has made very enjoyable coffee.

Robert D.

I have been using medium or medium dark roast beans with great success. Sometimes the espresso can be a little sour if the grind is too coarse and the pour only takes 20 seconds or less, but once I adjust the grind so the shot pour comes out in 25-30 seconds, then the sourness goes away.

Do you recommend using a cold/chilled frothing pitcher with the Oracle Jet?

How loud are the grinder and pump? Can I make espresso without waking up the family?

Jasper P.

Depends how far it is from the bedrooms. For us about 20ft same level. Answer is no. Not crazy loud but not quiet either.

Customer

You will not wake the family and you will love the machine
