Fantastic Build Quality and Performance (2 Years and Running)

I don't get the bad reviews here. This is built like a tank and has been exceptionally reliable for over two years, with excellent grind quality and consistency.Mostly I use it with my Moccamaster KBGV Select, but also occasionally with a French press, moka pot, Chemex, a Yama siphon pot (the cleanest coffee taste you can imagine), and others -- everything but espresso (which is okay, because my Jura has a grinder built in and is still going strong after 16 years thanks to monthly cleaning and descaling).I love the smoked gray bean hopper because it doesn't show coffee oil buildup. At the beginning of each month I clean this with Grindz and then vacuum out the top and put the hopper and lid in the dishwasher, and after that any coffee oils I never saw are gone again. (Someone here mentioned the bean hopper and lid look cheap. Really? They're plastic, what else should they look like? It's very well made in my opinion.)If there's one defect it's the design of the ground coffee bin, but I never use that. I literally set the Moccamaster's filter holder with filter under the chute and grind directly into it (or into a small bowl). It's just a lot simpler cleanup. (Anyone looking at something with hard corners compared to a round bowl can see this is never going to be easy to clean like a bowl would be, so just don't use it. No need.)FYI, if you don't need the programmability (and really, you don't) the Eureka Filtro is excellent as well. It just looks a little 2001: A Space Odyssey black monolith without the chrome of the programmable display added to this version. I don't mind that and I absolutely love the tank-like build quality.I've also never had any problem with beans clogging this machine but, again, I clean it with Grindz at the beginning of each month (every 30 or so days [the long, long, LONG lasting Jura taught me the value of doing the maintenance on my coffee gear]). Before these Eureka grinders I owned a Ranciio Rocky that drove me crazy, forcing me to remove the finger guard and literally stop and stir to keep beans grinding rather than the machine spinning and doing nothing. I absolutely loathed that machine and replaced it with these, which I absolutely love, both of them. (Why do I own two? I live in two different places. No need to buy two for most people.)Highly recommended unless you need to be able to grind espresso fine. Also, you can guy two of the Filtro grinders and set one for drip and one for French press for less than buying this Brew Pro, so you decide, but this works great, and again, it's built like a tank.

Good but could be better

It could be better. It is very quiet which is why we purchased it. However, coffee sticks to the outside due to the design. The grind is nearly perfect. Once the chute clogged shut and it was a bit difficult to unclog. I wish it didn't create a mess.

Cannot recommend

We have had ours for over a year now and have concluded we either got a lemon or this grinder is just not worth the money - not even close! I will admit that we got an open box version, but it was spotless and if I didn't know I would think it was brand new. Kudos to Seattle Coffee Gear for such a clean "open box" item. The problem is that it has never lived up to any of my expectations. Where to begin.. probably the most frustrating is the fact that you turn it on, push the grind bucket and you just hear a whirring sound. No grinding, just the motor spinning, but the grinder doesn't engage. It has been doing this since day one, but has slowly gotten worse. Probably happens 2-3 times per week. Pushing the button to stop and restart the grind does nothing. I have to turn it off and back on - that USUALLY works. If not the second or third on/off gets it going. The grind size... I bought this for drip AND cold brew. No way this will grind coarse enough for cold brew. I had to take it up to 8.5/10 to get a decent drip grind. Anything higher than this and yeah I get larger chunks, but the consistency is poor at best. Kind of like trying to do a cold brew grind on any espresso grinder. Maybe the one I got isn't really a Brew Pro ?? Because a setting of 1/10 is pretty fine.We don't use overly sticky/oily beans, but somehow the hopper constantly stops feeding beans. USUALLY shaking the little handle helps, but not always and sometimes I just have to put a spoon in and stir the beans to make sure they are feeding again. Is there such a thing as extra-fat coffee beans? The good:It looks really cool - we got the orange one with chrome side panels. It has the look and feel of quality - I think I sometimes like it more when I am drinking tea.It is quiet. Conclusion: if it didn't look so cool and wasn't expensive I would not put up with it's issues and would have trashed it. I should have sent it back right away, but thought maybe it was me and I needed to "fine tune" it. Since it was open box though I couldn't return by the time I was convinced it was the grinder and not me.

Don't buy this!

Terrible system. The receptacle for these are a poor design. Grinds are all over your counter always. Even pouring the grinds out is difficult due to the shape of the recepticle. Grinds fine, but truthfully I could not tell the difference in my coffee between this and a grinder costing less than $200. A total waste of money and its the first time I felt the video review on this site was misleading.

Nothing But Trouble.

This is nothing but trouble. It clogs up regularly. It gets only one daily use for morning coffee. I?ve had it stop two or three times in a week. When it works, the coffee is quite good, but honestly, the last thing you want first thing in the morning is to get your screwdrivers out to try and start the grinder. I simply don?t use it anymore. It is quite pricey.

Delivers on everything in promises - but falls down on some of the details making it more difficu...

Pro:- Grind quality is excellent- Grinder body feels exceptionally well built- Touchscreen feels very premium and responsive- Very quiet- Love the single-turn adjustment dial- Dosing by time is very consistent. I get exactly 60 grams out from a 25 second grind time every time.Cons:- I thought the smoke tinted hopper and bin looked nice - but they're frustrating in actual usage. The tint is so dark that it's impossible to see how full either is even under bright direct lighting.- Bin and hopper feel cheap and flimsy. And the odd angular/slender shape makes emptying grounds into a filter a messy and frustrating experience.- Grinder and bin don't mate together well at all. During the dry winter, it feels like static is throwing just as many grinds onto my counter and the face of the grinder from the 1/4" gap as go into the bin. Many online suggest measuring out single doses + adding a small amount of water to the beans which (1) defeats the purpose of having a large hopper and a timer and (2) doesn't work great when grinding 60-90g from batch brewing.

Whole lotta' money zilch instructions

I wrote above about wanting to end the Breville IQ cycle of good then not. I did my research. I thought the Eureka for brew sounded like a good choice. It came with no instructions for the brew, but detailed instructions for Espresso. I contacted the company and was told "it's the same". Well, no it is not. I was then told others had had a similar experience and the company was working on a a guide specifically for this grinder. It never happened. Part of the Breville IQ was I never learned the specifics of grinding. And you know what, I liked it like that. I finally got an email from SCG with some basic parameters...still confusing. So after paying$$$$$ for a grinder, I had to grind my way through the internet. I would not recommend this experience for anyone.
