The Silenzio 55 takes Eureka's home-size grinder and improves it with a new motor, anti-clumping system—and a custom-designed, sound insulated case. Rubber damping at motor mounts and around exit points like the throat and grind adjust knob reduce resonance for quieter grinding. This grinder is very quiet, I also installed a single use bellows on the top. Mornings are so much more quieter now !
This is a great grinder and is the single best improvement I have seen in my espresso.
This thing is ultra fast and quiet. There is a tiny bit of retention but nothing that a light tap or bellows can't fix.
Silent, sleek and consistent grind size for espresso without having to max out the settings. 3.5 size on the dial gives good results
You don't need more than this convenient grinder. Quiet, small and fast.
I've had mine for 3 years now. It's doing it's job like it just came out of its box. Amazingly quiet - a workhorse because we drink a lot of coffee - and easy to use. We need this quiet grinder in our tiny home where we have meetings, work, TV shows, or sleep that won't be disturbed. I'm buying another soon for a family member.

Excellent grinder, but don't expect it to help with dosage. You'll need a scale and a single dosage cup for this setup to be effective, who fb adds another $100 or so. A bit too expensive for the functionality this provides.
Love the grinder. I am a novice to espresso so here it goes. I like that it is quieter than what I used to use for just ground coffee. I learned how to do several different grinds on this by accident. It would be nice if the dial had finer and courser directions as my husband kept telling me to turn it one way, only to later notice the arrow goes both ways. Old eyes kind of suck. But after that everything went better. The other note is the cleaning which I was a little confused about. If you are not familiar please look up how to clean. Darker coffees apparently can contain more oil, so be picky about your coffees. Starbucks coffee does not like this and I don't know why, I ran out of beans and went to Starbucks and because I like dark roast the machine can clog up. Which it did repeatedly. Cleaned out machine ordered more beans and going to keep learning. Good luck.
will this machine do coarser grind for drip machines?
This machine does not have a numerical setting system, so it is dependent on you adjusting the knob and checking the grind. If you just do drip coffee you can leave it on that setting, but it you want to go back and forth to a different grind you need to count the number of turns. I do love the machine because it is SO SO quiet. So despite the inconvenience on adjusting the grind settings, it is more than wonderful because of the quiet operation.

If do not want to use a portafilter, where do you rest receiving container?
Hello, You can remove the portafilter fork and that will allow a catch container to fit more flush to the machine. It should lift up and off for easy removal.
