Sleek and excellent!

Coming from drinking primarily drip coffee, this machine has made me totally rethink how I enjoy coffee.

Problems right off the bat

Problems right off the bat. We purchased a Z10, expecting that the $3K+ price would mean a good, well-designed machine which makes great coffee. Within 2 months we realized the machine was getting clogged and wouldn't produce any liquid out the spout. Turns out a major design flaw allows too fine grinding of the beans which will break the machine. Jura customer service was unhelpful. We ended up returning and will get a different brand. We had purchased a Saeco Xelsis from Seattle Coffee Gear a while back and had a great run.

Leaks, clogs. Jura says it can't cope with "oily" beans

I would highly discourage anyone from buying this machine! After 2 weeks of use the machine became clogged. Tried everything to fix it ourselves. Called the jura service line and were instructed how to stick fingers into the machine to clean off the portafilter because the machine fails to do so effectively itself. This is something we now have to repeat 1-2 times daily. We sent the machine away to try and have the problem fixed but Jura simply sent it back and told us the beans we are using are too oily! Wtf? We use run of the mill beans purchased from a grocery store or Cafe, as we always have with every coffee machine we've owned. Yes, sometime beans are on the oily side, sometimes not. Either way, the machine clogs repeatedly and for the ridiculous price of this thing, it's pathetic that one must resort to using light roast beans only or face endless clogging issues. We tried for a month to use only light roast, dry/not oily beans and the problem did not resolve. It would appear the machine is poorly engineered and prone to clogs and Jura simply chooses to put the blame in the customer. As of 2 weeks ago, the machine now leaks water all over the counter when trying to make coffee and flashes Error 8 daily requiring an unplug to reset. For the ridiculous price of this machine and it's inability to do even the basics I would highly recommend people buy literally anything other than Jura. We'll be going back to another brand by the end of the month and will keep the Jura to make YouTube and social videos demonstrating it's poor quality. This machine is a big loss and regret, I hope no one else makes the same mistake. Surely, had Jura advertised that the machine does not work with oily beans (like 80% of what is available for sale anywhere) we would have steered clear of this abysmal invention. For the ridiculous price, it should be able to do so much more than just the basics, and it can't even do that. AVOID!!!

Great decision

The ability to "dial-in" the perfect espresso and coffee makes this 2nd to no one. Intuitive to use and cleaning is a snap. Awesome product.

The coffee quality is soooo good. I wish I bought this machine way sooner.

Can you only use non-oily/lighter roast bean in this machine?

Jake B.

Hello, We, as well as Jura, would recommend using a non-oily bean in their super automatic machines. Excess oil can definitely cause residue issues in any internal grinder like this and would require more frequent cleaning and can cause trouble when feeding beans and dispensing the ground coffee. SuperGrindz can help remove residue. You are welcome to use the coffee you like, but it is recommended to avoid oily beans to ensure the lifespan of the grinder and components.

I love drip coffee and want a machine that does both coffee drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, etc but also makes a great cup of regular drip tasting coffee for every day. Some machines make very average regular coffee. How about this one? thx.

Jon Z.

Just purchased this machine a couple of weeks sgo. I used the same beans that I have enjoyed for years. Literally the best cup of coffee I've ever tasted, even better than the cup from the coffee shop.

Patricia B.

I’m not sure what drip coffee tastes like but I know it’s suppose to be smooth. I would think an Americana might be close. I love the ice coffee! I’m sorry I can’t answer your question but this machine is amazing.

Does the Z10 make hot water?

Jake B.

Hello!Yes it does make hot water, there are 2 settings for hot water which are "Hot Water" and "Hot Water for Green Tea". The "Hot Water for Green Tea" setting dispenses a lower temperature water meant for herbal or green teas, whereas the standard hot water setting is great for other teas or other uses.

Would love to hear if the cold brew cycle really works . . . any thoughts based on experience with the machine?
