First I will say this machine makes good coffee. The reason I only gave three stars is for the coffee pot itself and the fact that I am still having to heat my coffee up more in the microwave. I only drink two cups in the morning, one right after the other. The first cup is hot, but not hot enough for the way I like it and the second cup is just warm. The coffee pot itself leaves dark stains after several months of use. I wash it immediately after use and tried everything from vinegar and baking soda to clean it.

Good product from this store

Nice upgrade from the older coffee machine. Like the smaller filter accessory for the kalita filter. Great helpful video by seattle coffee gear.

We love it.!!!!! Great coffee. Stays hot

I bought this based on the reviews here and other sites. Love the fact that it is easy to brew one large cup. But while I was aware keeping the coffee hot for a second pour might be a problem (the carafe is not insulated, and there is no warming device), the coffee never gets hot enough to start with. I'll be donating it as soon as I find something else.

Another top-notch OXO product.

This was purchased to move on from a simple Melita pour-over. The unit seems well made, is easy to operate and makes a darn good cup of coffee. The design is attractive, and it takes up less counter space than other similar capacity units. I also appreciate being able to brew an individual cup with the basket insert. This works perfectly with a 20oz Yeti. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but overall I'm very satisfied.

Great flavor and convenient

Coffee has great flavor, not bitter. Love being able to brew right into my cup.

Makes Great Coffee!

Not only does the Oxo Brew look good, more importantly, it makes great coffee and keeps it hot. I highly recommend it. It?s very well designed with a brew basket that snaps into place and stops the flow temporarily if you remove the pot to pour some coffee in your cup. It?s easy to wash by hand, but I do recommend keeping the lid off after washing the pot so the small amounts of water remaining can evaporate, unless you wish to hand dry.

A much better cup of coffee

Buying this Oxo Coffee Maker was the first step on my journey to a much better cup of coffee, along with switching from a regular coffee bean grinder to a Conical Burr coffee grinder (Oxo also makes a good one). The way that this coffee maker wets the grounds before running the entire tank of water through the grounds seems to be key in releasing the best flavor. Very happy with it!

Excellent coffee pot, worth the money.

Great piece of gear. Very fast and it makes excellent coffee. Shorter than the 9 pot model that it replaced.Only one negative, if making less than a full pot of coffee the coffee isn't very hot probably due to the thermal mass of the pot itself.

Disappointing because other OXO products have earned 5 stars

Mixed performance in the coffee pot that also was a "Wirecutter" recommendation ---- that is why I ordered it.What I like is that brews FAST, stays HOT in the carafe. There's a problem with the top to the carafe. I called OXO because when the top to the carafe is in the position that is in the instructions for brewing, is faulty. The coffee from the basket overflows the top and does not drip down into the carafe when the top is in place as instructed. They are sending a new top for the carafe. If that doesn't fix the problem, I will ask for a refund

We wish it came with a stainless-steel filter for both the large and single cup brewing. Otherwise, we find it makes good coffee which is the whole point!

Thumbs Up- OXO Drip Coffee Maker

Love our OXO coffee maker. Makes great drip coffee- and is much quicker than our old machine. Is sleek and attractive. Best yet- no drip carafe keeps coffee warm with a bottom heat element. Very happy with it.

Very good not awesome yet.

First it absolutely does brew good coffee. It's simple to use, simplicity is good.I have a hard time justifying $350 or more for a coffee maker so this was more in my price range. I've tried both the carafe and cups and like using both.I would have preferred that the single cup adapter used a more common readily available filter. It will not brew into a cup without sliding the selector on the filter basket, and that selection is not very intuitive. The carafe has an inner lip around it's entire circumference that will not allow the carafe to be completely emptied. These issues are only meant for improvement on the part of Oxxo. I would purchase this product again in it's current configuration.

Excellent drip coffee maker with thermal carafe.

I was looking for a new drip coffee maker with a thermal carafe, and I didn't want to pay over $300.00 for a drip machine, so this was one of the only alternatives that was in stock. I was a little concerned with the SCG product description, when they listed build quality as a con. I don't know if OXO has improved this product since that evaluation, but I am very pleased with this product. It is well thought out and designed, and the build quality on mine is very robust. It makes great drip coffee, and if you preheat the carafe with hot water, it keeps the coffee hot. The wide mouth of the carafe makes it easy to clean, but it's hard to get all the water out because of the way the handle and lid attach to the carafe. That's a minor issue though, and doesn't detract from the fact that this is a very good drip coffee maker that should last a long time.

My Oxo 8 cup coffee maker is excellent. The only reason for a four star review and not five is that the pot has to be preheated with hot water to avoid over cooling the coffee. Without its own heat source, which I understand, it needs pre heating or it won?t be hot enough.

Good coffee....just too much

Makes great coffee and it is easy to use. My only complaint...it uses twice as much coffee as my old coffee maker. I believe the cone type filter and a much slower brewing time are the reason I used less coffee with my old pot.

We are loving it I love the ease of it the only thing I wish was that the pot was a little bit bigger to hold 10 cups but I have no complaints

I have had problems with this coffee maker from the first month I owned it and that has been 8 months. The water overflows and goes on the counter top. OXO sent me a new basket and lid for the pot. It will go for 10-12 brews, then it does the same thing again. What gives with this coffeemaker? I have checked filter position, made sure basket is in properly and made sure lid on correctly and aligned properly. But it's same problem back again. There is also about 1/4 cup water that remains in the tank and I have to dump it out every day. OXO assured me that water is not a problem. I say it is. If it stays in there it could become stagnant. I don't like having to stand over this coffeemaker every day and babysit it. This is ridiculous. What is with this coffeemaker?

Raymond C.

I think a ground of coffee can get stuck in the lid mechanism and prevent drainage to the carafe. Nightmare

Can you use pre ground coffee for this machine and still get good results?

Susan I.

I grind my own beans; I wouldn't think there would be any issue using pre-ground coffee.

Kenneth K.

Yes. That is all I have ever used with mine.
